  1. I do so love our country. Rolling Thunder represents real, average, every day Americans.

  2. Froggy, wonderful video of a wonderful bunch of Americans. It makes me feel hopeful for our country to see hundreds of people who truly love this country.

Hi Surfie, nice to hear your encouraging words. Some days words from our government make me feel bad, but I know I can always come to The Pond to find friends who love our country.

How can people be born here, live here, partake of its riches, and be so darn mean? That is a mystery I'll never understand.

  3. Here is a Memorial Day message from Washington State's Patti Murray. I just had to post it. Is this all they can think about is money? And how they can spend it?

Sen. Murray’s Memorial Day message: Send $$$
Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., in a pre-Memorial Day weekend e-mail to prospective donors, is asking them to pony up money to the Democrats “before you take off for the weekend.” Fear is the basic ingredient of political fund-raising pitches. The enemy is always about to strike in great force. “Fight back” is a phrase endlessly used, particularly by Murray. Murray is chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. 1. I once made the mistake of emailing her pleading for her not to support obamacare. The response I got was to thank me for my support (?) and then I was put on her propaganda mailing list.
Yes indeed Patty, the enemy is about to strike in great force - wait till November to see how we "fight back."

  5. Thanks from me too Froggy! I am so thankful to God for our country! This video is heartwarming. :)

As to senator Patty Murray - She has always been such a disappointment! I've written and called her office before to no avail. :( We're stuck with her for a while though. :( It's rather depressing, because our other lousy DEM senator, Maria Cantwell, is expected to win her race in November. Why is it so hard to find Republican candidates who can win in our state? Sorry to rant on about a local issue. But I just don't get it!

On to more pleasant things - I spent the day yesterday helping my BFF with her garage sale. She lives out in the country, in a new house in the hills. I sat there and enjoyed their scenic view of the city below, as we drank mimosas and ate coffee cake. :) We had a great time visiting, and people watching. ;)

No picnics or barbeques planned for us this weekend. The next two days I plan to clean out my craft room and clean out part of the basement. Not too exciting, but it will make me happy when I can cross those chores off my list!

What is everyone else doing? Im sure it's more interesting than my plans! :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, friends! And Phoo, special prayers for your recovery!

    1. Hi, sweetie! I'm sitting here eating a bowl of pop corn. 'Wog is grumbling about how she can't find her a movie to watch. She got to wandering around the house so, I finally told her to take one of her nerve pills! She was about to drive me nutz! Time she remembers the front half--but not the back half--of everything I say is enough. Now, if I can just keep her out of the ice cream! I had to set her a task of her homework; I swear she has nacolepsy sometimes...! 'Wogs are hard to manage!

Blessings and prayers to our beloved Phoo!

  6. We're watching Sergeant York. What an American! He asked that his money for allowing Hollywood to film his life story be donated to a Bible school he wanted built. When Gary Cooper accepted his Oscar, he said it really belonged to Alvin York. Boy oh boy, has Hollywood changed!
