  3. I never knew that Washington State was that beautiful. Guess we need to take a trip to the eastern side.

I am sooo happy that it's Friday...I am hopping at school!

My first stop after school will be to update my Orca bus pass, then I'll be home to check the mail before my next trip to.... Gosh that sounds like a lot of bus rides!

  4. Those pictures are stunningly beautiful. Thanks, Gloria!

Frog and Wog, you girls sound like you're in fine form today. Love it when you both sound so terrific. And, Phoo, you sound like you're feeling better also.

The beastly heat and scary storms are gone. It was a wonderful 70 degrees with scattered little showers today.

I have to get my car serviced tomorrow morning. Blech. Then my usual going to the bank, going to the grocery store, doing laundry, cleaning house, paying bills.

For fun, I'm going to dinner with my 2 friends from childhood tonight. Planting (from seed) zinnias, basil, arugula, and marigolds in pots on my patio. Really don't like marigolds, put I'm planting them around my tomato plant because they keep bugs off the tomato. Bugs don't like marigolds, either!

Also for fun, I'll watch the Thunder vs. Spurs basketball game tomorrow night with my sister and her family. The BEST fun is that my son and I talk with each other every Sunday.

Great things happened at work this week. I'm outta here for dinner so will tell you about it later. I TOLD YOU I can be a total chatterbox!

Smooches to all my Pond Pals.

    1. I was wondering about the health of your cherry tomato plant. And, no! you are not a 'chatterbox'. I love reading all posts here. Have noticed that posts on 'The Connection' are way down. Wondering why that's happening.

    2. Dinner was at a Cajun restaurant. I had catfish, greens & turnips with a dash of spicy vinegar, scalloped potatoes, and bread pudding. My stomach is about to explode! Yummy!

Phoo, I still post on The Connection. Have friends there. It was Joshua's brainchild. Lucianne Goldberg has done a lot of good in this world. None of us would probably be Ponders had we not met there. And I am SO grateful for Froggy's Pond.

      Love to my dear friends!

    3. I've noticed the posts are down on The Connection, too. At least on the pages I go on. I still check it, though.

I love reading your chatter here, Surfie. Chatter away!

  5. Thank you all for loving the Pond. For all my missteps on the Connection, this is what I wanted: a place where good friends could come and chatter and pray and laugh. I love to hear about all your doings and that you all work to make this a place of love. Everyone is so good natured here, I love it.

(Surfie, the last post I wrote on the Connection was for the 2 gals that had been fussing on that thread--I certainly wasn't referring to any of my friends/all of you--I know it didn't sound that way, but that's all I meant.)

Tell me if your tomatoes get edible--and yes, marigolds DO work to keep the bugs off... mother had some. I miss the lilacs here; in Denver, there was a huge white bush and purple bush at my bus stop. It's my favorite scent. Here, around here, we have rows of beautiful cherry blossoms. The church parking lot across the street looks like it got snow, they're so thick!

Phoo--you feeling better and better? Good for you and Ms. Page for taking a look at your health habits (one in particular, friend). We need and love you here! Ms. Page wants you around for a long, long time. We do, too!

  7. Hi Froggy,

You must not have read my post from the other day - I think I post too late at night! No one ever reads them! :) (and here I go again, it's 10:47 p.m.)

Please send The Amateur on to Surfie right now. I'd like to read it sometime, but I don't have much spare time right now. Thank you so much for the offer! Did you like the book? I heard Ed Klein speak about his book, and I thought he was spot on about Obama!

Gloria, thanks so much for posting the pictures! Those rolling hills are my part of the state too. :) When we moved here from Seattle 48 years ago, I thought this was the most God-forsaken place on earth. Ha! I was just a clueless kid! The beauty of this area has grown on me. ;) I love it over here. Another big bonus is most of the population is conservative! :D

Thanks again for this blog, Froggy! I love everyone here. :)

    Goodnight friends. :)

    1. Yes, I must've missed your post; late at night, I'm all doped up on these muscle relaxants I've taken so I can do PT in small doses all afternoon. Surfie--shoot me your new addy, hon. I'll try and write my opinion of the book tomorrow.

      Good night!
