  2. Happy Tuesday, everyone! I echo Phooey, only 7 days left to wait.

My in-laws in Yonkers, NY have lost a few shingles from their roof and some siding from the house, but still have power and no trees came down, although the winds gusts continue. All seems to be well.

Family along the Jersey Shore haven't been allowed back to see any damage, so I don't know how that will turn out. They all evacuated in plenty of time. I guess G-d was looking ahead when He saw fit to keep us from moving last summer. We would have been right in the center of it all. Now, I just hope the house we were planning on renting when we do finally move (should be next summer), is still standing.

    1. Eva, so far, so good for your family. Let us know when you hear more. How close to water is the house you were going to rent?

Yes, we are really anxious aobut the election too. Could go either way.

  4. NCIS, Phooey! I'm a happy woman!

Eva, please keep us posted on your family. They are in my prayers.

One week from today! I can hardly wait to use my new OK voter ID to vote for the next President of the United States ... Mitt Romney! I wasn't all that keen on him at first, but I'm now officially excited about voting for him.

Tomorrow is Halloween. My big bro and SIL moved into a new, beautiful home last weekend. I'm going over for dinner and trick-or-treaters after work tomorrow. My brother loves Halloween because he has a joyous soul and loves to see the kids and tease the daylights out of them. Their new neighborhood has lots of kids and gobs of neighbors are out decorating their houses. Should be fun!

I love you all, my dear Ponders!

    1. Surfie, you and Phoo enjoy NCIS! It's fun to have a special show every week. Going to your brother's home sounds like best-fun. Froggy and I used to decorate our front porch for halloween when we rented a house. We carved pumpkins and placed on the porch.

  6. Speaking of Halloween, last year I bought all this candy and no kids showed up. I couldn't believe it. That's never happened before. I ate plenty of it before Joe took the rest to school, thank goodness. This year, I didn't buy as much.

The house on the little island we're planning to rent beginning next summer, is one we've rented for summer trips in past years. It's surrounded by Barnegat Bay and is a 5 minute walk to the ocean. There's a tiny bridge that connects this island to a barrier island. I'm sure that little bridge is gone. It's made of wood. Joe's uncle lives there and one of his aunt's used to. I've sent an email to the people who own it and we'll have to wait and see. No one can get near there for awhile.

  7. Eva, Your little island home sounds wonderful. I hope that it didn't get too damaged. At least with a hurricane, you have time to leave. With an earthquake there is no warning. I'm not too fond of tornados either. Do you think Joe's uncle stayed on the island through this storm? Give us an update when you find out.
