Happy Thursday!

  1. Good early morning Ponders! Had a great time at my brother's house last night. Lots of adorable trick-or-treaters. We ate chili, laughed, had great fun with the little kids.

Oklahomans with concealed carry permits can open carry their guns as of today. My brother works downtown. I work a few miles south of there in a very blue collar area (not far from Tinker Air Force Base). We're both going to walk around our respective parts of town and see if we notice any open carry. Something to entertain ourselves with at lunch today!

He also thinks Mitt will win by a big margain. Let's hope that translates to an Electoral College win. One thing I know for sure: Obama won't win a single county in Oklahoma.

Eva, have you heard from your family back east yet? Keeping them in my prayers.

Have a Hoppy Thursday deer Ponders!

  2. Hello everyone!

Surfie, it sounds like your brother is a smart man! :) I love my brother too, but he is a public school teacher, and still drinks the kool aid. :(

It must be nice to live in a red state! :) I am SO glad to live on the red, east side of WA state. I know that Froggy, Wog, and Gloria are over there with the liberal masses in the very blue part of WA. Hang in there, WA ponders! God willing, we might be electing a Republican governor, for the first time in over 30 years! :)

Speaking of Sandy, there's a news article on Lucianne.com that says during the Bush years, he had a plan to upgrade the electrical grids in the NE. Idiots like Harry Reid were outraged that Bush wanted to reward his "cronies" so they wouldn't hear of it. A man from NJ called in to the Mark Levin show yesterday, and said he was told that the electricity could be off for ten days! I will definitely keep them in my prayers!

Love and prayers to all the ponders! :)

  4. With every picture of the Jersey Shore I see, my heart breaks a little more. The damage takes all sorts of memories with it. If you were born in New Jersey, as both my parents were, you summered at the Shore. My father did his basic training in Atlantic City. My mother, were she still alive, would be heartsick to see the destruction.

My earliest summer memories were in Long Branch and Asbury Park. When I was 10, my parents bought a house in Deal. Have you seen the pictures of the Seaside Heights boardwalk? There are some dramatic ones of a roller coaster in the water. Joe worked on that ride every summer while he was in college. He & I spent our honeymoon in a little town called Lavallette and have spent summers, until recently, on Chadwick Island. In 2006-07 we lived the entire year on the Island and were supposed to rent the same house when we move east next summer. I've emailed the owners to see if they know anything, but haven't heard. They are probably in the same shape as Joe's uncle, not being able to get there to see what's happening. So many memories washed away.

I needed a break from the election, but not this kind of break. Now, I'm grateful for election news. I just wish I didn't get so angry. This has been an exhausting week!

    1. Dearest Eva, my heart breaks for you. The devastation is unbelievable. To be sure they will rebuild but it wil take a long time. Watch for enviro weenies who don't want rebuilding.

  5. Something interesting. Steve (our son) noticed an add by Michelle. It says "if you have a phone, you have his back. Anyone can make phone calls." Steve says it really means that if you got a free Obama phone you owe him and it is pay back time.

Did anyone see that? Do you agree or dissagree?

    1. I'm not surprised. She says some interesting things and they don't always get covered by the media. These people with Obama phones think they got something for nothing. Talk about stupid people. I wish they wouldn't vote.

  6. Eva, it must be so painful for you to see so much damaged to a beloved area. So many memories washed away overnight. I remember the boardwalk in Atlantic City and Ocean City. I remember the horse that would dive into a pool. So many things... Our hearts are with you and Joe and your families. Let us know what we can do!!!

  7. NEWS FROM THE NEWS:
does this sound communist to you? When you ask children to spy on their friends and family....

"A new video in support of President Obama features a children’s choir singing about a world in which Mitt Romney wins the 2012 presidential election and gays can be “fixed” and “oil fills the sea.”

The web video was produced by the firm Goodby Silverstein and Partners -- known for the “Got milk?” advertising campaign and a client base that includes Cheetos and Nintendo, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.

The child sing about blaming “mom and dad” for the Romney vote, as a piano accompanies them."

  9. Night All.. Froggy crawled in bed early to get warm. Seems to be a chill in the air. Wolfie got cat-nipped, so he's out for awhile. I'll hop into The Pond again before I end the night.
