Good Morning, Friends!

What are your holiday plans?

  1. Good morning, all! We have no plans tomorrow. We'll go out to eat. I told Joe I could make a dinner for the 2 of us, but he looked skeptical and said we'd go to a restaurant. Then we'll come home and watch movies with the furballs. I've got turkey & giblets cat food for them.

One thing I'm going to get today at the store is pistacios. 'Wog, I've been thinking of them ever since you wrote yesterday!

  2. We've got enough for a couple of frozen turkey dinners and a piece of pie. I think we'll get apple--I don't feel like pumpkin this year. All we really want is the time together; we terribly grateful for that--it's all that matters ;-)

  3. Yes, I, the 'WOG, will be coming home with turkey TV dinners, can of cranberry sauce, blue lake green beans, and apple pie.

Froggy, I'll be at school a little while. Will let you know when the bus is coming to take me away.

    1. Do you have any movies or programs to watch this week? I am wanting to watch something to take my mind off things. There is no such thing as a movie rental store any more. I can get movies from the library but i need a title to order one. Any sugestions? I won't be doing any shopping just staying at home. Our dinner will be simple.

    2. What kind do you like? I favor the 'Double Indemnity', 'Shadow of a Doubt', 'Sorry Wrong Number', 'Gaslight', 'Leave Her to Heaven', 'In This Our Life' type ;-)

    3. P.S. 'Woggy and I have a terrible habit of talking, joking and listening to music through most movies. The 'Wog will always sleep through the end LOL!

  5. We're having our family Thanksgiving at my sister's house. Usually about 20 people. My sister has held this at her house since forever and has it down to a science. She does the turkey, ham, dressing, gravy. Everyone else brings the sides and appetizers. Last Thanksgiving, I had only lived in OKC for a couple of weeks. This year, I'm right back in the groove again. I'm bringing dessert! Have 2 pumpkin pies, and am making a pear/apple crisp tonight.

Might visit my friend Karen after family dinner. The brain radiation is really getting to her. She always hosted her big family's dinner, but can't do it this year. Her husband, son, daughter, and daughter's boyfriend are cooking for her. It will just be their immediate family. We just got off the phone with each other. We told each other how thankful we are for our life-long friendship. If she is asleep or feels terrible after my family's dinner, we agreed to get together and eat leftovers sometime over the weekend.

Please keep Karen in your prayers, deer Ponders.

The day after Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year. I'll yack about it later! Love you all!

    1. Surfie, Your meal tomorrow sounds deeelicious! I always say "you can't lose weight between Thanksging and Christmas." Am I right? Karen is lucky to have a wonderful friend like you. You have been so positive about her recovery.

Inquiring minds want to know: How do you make pear/apple crisp?

  6. Have fun, Surfie! I'm sure the radiation is terrible for Karen. Please tell her she has lots of people praying for her.

I notice that both AMC & TCM have Gone With The Wind on. Weird.

I hope Israel knows what she's doing by agreeing to the ceasefire. Watch for our press (not to mention the European press) to praise Egypt's Morsi to the skies as the big peace broker. Always remember that he refuses to speak directly to any Israeli official and won't call the country by its name. We'll see what happens, but the usual Palentinian celebrations and declarations that they won and Israel was defeated have already begun.

    1. Eva, Gone with the Wind? It's such a long film. After turkey, dressing and pie, I'm ready for a nap. I saw The Ten Commandments was on too. And before Thanksgiving! I'm someone who falls asleep the minute it gets dark outside. It's dark at 5pm; I'm already taking a nap.

Israel knows, we all know, that muslim countries say one thing to appease, but do what they want. My, doesn't that sound like our president?
