  2. Good Morning Hiker. I enjoy your posts! I'm ready to ditch that New Year's resolution. Think I'll join you for that walk to hear the tree frogs. Would be delightful if all Ponders could go on walk together.

We are getting ready to go sign the lease for new apartment. In the meantime, our present apartment is a disaster zone. Didn't realize how many people it takes to get a move completed: movers, cleaners, junk removal, donation pickup. Silly cat hasn't realized what's going on yet.

  3. Good Morning! I woke up thinking that today is moving day. I wish I could be some real help to you. I know it will all work out. Just please don't over do it.

Hiker, I am still thinking that I should have a resolution but now I don't need one. Love tree frogs. (With spellcheck it could have been three dogs.)I had one take up residence on my porch in my birdhouse. Somewhere I have a pic of him sitting in the opening - so cute. Funny thing the birdhouse is shaped like a cat.

Good morning Sir Phooey. God bless you today.

  4. My Katy loves frogs!! And for some reason frogs love me! They are always coming in my house, living in my garden( I make special places for them and toads)singing to me . I even leave a container out on the back porch just to let the silly things lay eggs so I can watch them grow
Moving is hard so I will be praying for you two

  5. Gosh, if I had known this day was coming, I'd have waited for it! Okay, it's a good excuse for me to ditch Zumba until next week.

Surfie, I'm old enough to remember that song you referenced in your post yesterday. I was crazy about it. I think it's great that you actually wouldn't respond to anyone unless they called you LWD! At least it's a beautiful sounding name. My forays into name changes came from my imagination and they were horrendous. I have a list of them somewhere. Two of them, I remember off the top of my head:

My mother was talking on the phone to a friend about a movie that starred a young Rip Torn. When she hung up, I announced that I was changing my name to Page Turner. She laughed the rest of the day.

Another really awful idea of mine came in the 7th grade. I decided to change my name to Morpha Helena. It was the scientific name of a beautiful butterfly. That one died a quick death!

    1. That is so funny!

A co worker of mine told about being in hospital after having a baby. She shared a room with a hispanic woman who didn't speak much English. The nurses wanted he to pick a name for her baby girl. She picked Placenta Maria! It had sounded so pretty. Took them a while to convince her to pick another name.

    2. I too changed my name I am the very beautiful Kerry Jean-Marie Kathryn but for some reason thought Eloise was better for about six months when I was 9 I guess I just didn't want a family name it didn't last long having 8 older brothers and sisters teasing me cured it quick and my little brother Keren reminds me of it to this day

  6. When is moving day? I know how grueling it is to get a big move put together, and then the unpacking process. But once you get settled into your new, perfect place ... it is SO WONDERFUL! One of the best feelings I got from a big move was getting rid of stuff I didn't use or didn't want; just keeping what I love and treasure and need. It was really liberating.

The stories of made-up childhood names are such fun. Eva, there is a poster on Lucianne's site named Page Turner. She lives in Bev Hills. Kerry Jean-Marie Kathryn IS a beautiful name! Did you change it after reading Eloise at the Plaza as a kid?

Tomorrow is Friday! Happy Dance! Hey, Phooey, there's an NCIS marathon starting here at 3:00 PM Saturday. Guess what I'll be watching Saturday night?

  7. Hi All, don't know if anyone is at the Pond this late in the day. We signed the lease and then just crashed. Couldn't seem to get anything done. I will write this again tomorrow to be sure everyone sees the plan.

WE move to the hotel Sunday about 3pm. Then I will pack computers and TVs on Monday. The movers come on Tuesday morning. Wednesday I will hook up the computers and TVs at new place. Thursday Comcast will come and attach everything back to their service. When the computers and TVs work, Froggy and Wolfie can come home.

Froggy or I will post a picture (for the week) on The Pond. I will try to stop by the hospital next door and write an update on their computer. They have a computer on the fifth floor in the waiting room.

Loved all the stories today, especially the ones about everyone changing there name. You are all delightful!
