  1. How's our Pond Family today? It's Friday...a very special day indeed. Froggy is off to the doctor this afternoon so she is nervous.

    1. My Lasix kills me too--going all day. I hope you're well otherwise.

  3. Hello Wog, Phoo, and Froggy,

I love those beautiful flowers! Spring is here! It was warm here until yesterday, then the rain and the wind came. Oh well, that's our normal spring.

Phoo; sorry to hear about your swollen eye lids. I have the same right now, but it is from surgery I had on Wednesday. I had Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) because my eyelids were getting droopy, and were interfering with my vision. I still can't read very long, as my eyes get very itchy and achy, and I need to put cold compresses on them to bring down the swelling.

Froggy, I hope your doctor's visit went well. :)

Take care everyone, I'm going to listen to some downloaded talk radio. Not good for keeping me calm, but it distracts me when I can't read.

Happy Friday to all the pond people!

    Love from Paget.

    1. Oh my Paget, eyelid surgery must be scary. I've wanted the wrinkles smoothed out underneath my eyes, but have been afraid to do it. Hope you won't take too long to heal. It will be a new-you.

    2. How'd the surgery go otherwise, hon? Is our Paget okay? Did it hurt?

  4. I'm happy because it's lilac season. Lilacs have always been my favorite flowers and their season is so short, mainly just the month of April. I just bought my first bunch of the year and have been putting them in vases around the house. Just looking at them makes me feel better.

Oh, those diuretics! Half of my blood pressure medication is a diuretic. Ever since I started it, I haven't slept through an entire night. Some nights I get up to go to the bathroom 5 times! Well, that's probably because I was eating popcorn and drinking water before going to bed. Even when I try to cut down on my water intake after dinner, I get up at least twice a night. It's very annoying. And it's strange because I take the pill in the morning and I'm not going a lot during the day. I guess it just hits me at night. Go figure.

    1. Eva, I love lilacs. I haven't seen them for a long time, but they are beautiful. We have a lot of rhododendrons in Washington state. They have a massive amount of flowers.

I have to watch my blood pressure too. I take 3-4 different pills....including a diuretic. We have a home blood-pressure cuff to keep track.

  5. Happy Friday! Took the day off today. I normally hate shopping but had fun today because I still have 2 days before work. Bought some makeup, new shoes, a raincoat, stumbled upon a big garage sale and bought some goodies there. Spent time looking through a pile of magazines, ripping out the pages I want to keep. Amazing how having just one extra day on the weekend is so good!

Looks like you Deer Ponders on the West Coast have a big storm coming in. Take care! Your storm is supposed to hit us here in OKC on Monday. They are saying 100% thunderstorms and a good possibility of tornadoes. I'll be safe. Have a tornado shelter at work and another one near my apt.

    See you all tomorrow!

  6. Hi everyone. Each day brings something new to deal with doesn't it? The taking of diuretics is something most of us deal with. I too get up at least twice at night. Right now I am dealing with some dizziness too so I can't stand up to fast. I went today to the chiropractor to get my neck adjusted and that helped some.

Froggy, how did your appointment go today?

    1. I had a really good appointment, thanks. My doc is a little odd, so it's been hard to get to know her; I'm glad to feel we're on the same page.

Oh--we go to the bathroom more at night with diuretics because kidneys work better when you lay down.

      Watch you don't fall, hon!

  7. PONDERMENT:
Seattle tunneling machine still on ship in bay

The Associated Press - SEATTLE —
The world's widest tunnel boring machine arrived in Seattle Tuesday on board a ship from Japan that has yet to pull up to a terminal.

The Transportation Department says the ship was scheduled to start unloading Friday but that has been delayed while arrangements are made.

The ship with yellow cranes, a black hull and the words "Jumbo Shipping" on the side remains in Elliott Bay.

The $80 million machine called Bertha was built at a factory in Osaka. Its 41 pieces will be reassembled in a pit to begin the year-long dig to create a two-mile tunnel under downtown Seattle.
