Welcome to Saturday at The Pond.

~~ Butterflies and Lilacs ~~

  1. Such a beautiful picture! You reminded me of my green-thumb grandmother. I don't know how, but in Oklahoma she was able to grow lilacs and camellias. She was such an interesting woman.

Hope everyone is feeling good today. Until reading yesterday's posts, I had no idea that kidneys work best when you are laying down.

Now that I think about it, everything in our body probably works best when we are laying down. Probably even better when we are asleep. You think?

    Happy Saturday!

  2. Gorgeous, gorgeous lilacs!! Last night, Joe said, "Oh those are nice flowers in the vases. What are they?" All these years married and the man doesn't know my favorite flower and I guess he's never noticed that once a year I flood the house with purples and lavenders. Sheesh!

Paget, how are the eyes today? You'll probably be sore for awhile, but hopefully after the swelling goes away, you'll be back to normal. I know how you feel about not being able to read. I'd go nuts!!

I never thought about the fact that kidneys work more lying down, Froggy. Now I have an answer to my ongoing puzzlement. Thanks! As to Surfie's thought about everything working best when we're asleep, that makes a lot of sense. I guess it's part of why sleep is so necessary. Talk about recharging one's batteries!

Surfie stay safe from tornados and everyone have a great day!

  3. Lilacs are my favorite, too. (I loved your story, Eva, about Joe being clueless, LOL). Mother had a white bush and a purple bush of them and we had them every April/May--Denver is good for that...

GAD!!! Da Wolf is screaming his head off because 'Woggy isn't here--she went to get his cat food and it's dinnertime. I sure hope he's not bothering the neighbors! My, what a big fat mouth!

  4. The "WOG is back! Wolfie was crying at the door as I put the key in the lock. Such a silly, adorable little cat. I just love him. I only went out to get him cat food. The vet near the house ran out of food. In the meantime it started pouring, and I got rained on pretty good. I had to grab a bus, actually two buses, to get to another vet for his special kidney food.

Eva, you mentioned lilacs yesterday, and I thought they would be wonderful on The Pond. Your Joe makes me smile.

Surfie, you have such wonderful stories about your family. Tell us more about your grandmother.

Phooey, I do hope that you are feeling better. You sounded miserable the last few days.

Gloria, if you drop by, I have a couple eBay questions. Do you ship your items with a tracking number?

Our Deer Paget will not be reading or writing for a few days. We send prayers for your quick recovery.

    1. Hi Wog. Yes I do ship with the tracking #. It helps both the buyer and the seller. Everything listed by me right now is actually listed by Val. Take a look at that goofy looking Betsy Johnson purse. The first sale fell through so she listed it again. I am trying to motivate myself to get busy. I have some Cutco knives to list.

  5. Hi everyone. Just found out that Pastor Rick Warren's adult son took his own life. So very sad. At a time when the family needs love and compassion and prayers I am amazed at the pious, self righteous comments by supposed Christians who think they know why this happened.

    1. Hi Gloria, I hadn't read this til now. It's all over the news now. I looked it up. Very sad for the family.

  6. That Betsy Johnson purse caught my eye. Really cute. I have some things to list, but I haven't been on eBay for 4-5 years. A lot of things changed, but the basic idea should still be the same. And I have a digital camera that I've never used (not for sale, but to take the pictures).
