  1. I got a good night of sleep last night--going back to bed now--'Wog is still snoozin' away. I'll be quiet...

  2. Oh so adorable! To be able to sleep like this is a real blessing.

Sorry to be absent yesterday. My sister went to the hospital yesterday morning with chest pains and shortness of breath. Luckily, my niece was with her when it happened and was able to call 911. I don't think she had a heart attack (although that's what the fear was). I think the stress of everything just hit her hard. I'm glad she's there, though, so that all the tests can be run and maybe we can get some answers. We wanted to have a complete workup done on her anyway. We just expected to do it through a primary care physician once we could find one for her.

    1. Eva, I was concerned about her since we didn't hear from you yesterday. And yes stress can do crazy things to a person. She is in a good place for her right now with caring and loving people. I know that everything will work out right. Prayers. Please take care of yourself too.

    3. Eva, let us know what it is as soon as you can--you have all my love and prayers. How old is she, BTW?

    4. Thanks all. I'm just tired, more than anything. I know G-d is looking out for me because somehow I'm managing to drive without getting into an accident, cook without burning myself, and trip over things without falling. These are all plusses because I know my usual concentration isn't there.

Froggy, she's 56 years old. My niece says she looks 20 years older. Anyway, I haven't heard anything today. I'm just sitting down to have some lunch. Then I'll call and find out what today brought.

  3. HI Gloria,
How are you doing Deer Friend?

I'm up for a little while. I just had to check The Pond and see how everyone is doing. You mentioned stress...I thought maybe it was the stress of our moving that made me sick. I have to get cat food today or I would just stay in bed all day.

It's sunny out now; Gloria, how are you doing?

  5. Hi ladies and Sir Phooey. Just got home from visiting my friend. After a rather rainy morning and even some hail it is sunny.

Wonder how that little Kaden(sp) is growing. Paget how was your drive?

  6. Hi Pond family!

Eva and Wog, stress can certainly seriously affect health. Wog, you went through the stress of a move. Eva, so did your sister. I'm a healthy 58 year old woman and moving from SoCal to OKC a year ago took a lot out of me.

Don't know if this applies to either Wog or Eva's sister, but the stress of moving also slammed me right back into grief over my husband's death. I vividly remember driving from signing papers for my new job then picking up keys to my new apartment then driving to my sister's for the night. I had to pull over because I started sobbing.

At that second, when wonderful things were happening in my life, it hit me that the live I had lived and loved was OVER. Being able to share that grief and shock with my sister really helped me. She was all happy about the good things and had NO IDEA how I felt because she'd never been through anything like that.

Froggy and Wog, you are such good sisters to each other. Eva, you are such a good sister. We're all sisters here, plus our brother Phooey.

Surfie Smooches to my Pond Family.

  8. Hello deer pond friends,

I wrote a long email today on my lunch 1/2 hour, and just as I finished it vaporized. Crazy how that happens! One more time -

We had the most wonderful visit with our grandson! :) I carried Kaden around all weekend, and even though my back is now sore, it was worth it! I would love to move to Anacortes and be with him all the time, but the reality is we have to work a few more years, so we'll stay here. Gloria, I understand why you make so many trips to see your precious grandchildren! They grow up so fast!

Did I mention that we brought my MIL along on our trip? She is quite the character. ;) She is hard of hearing (won't admit it) and speaks in a very loud voice. On the way there, we stopped at a clothing store called the Dress Barn. One side has plus sizes, and the other has regular sizes. When she realized we were on the plus size side of the store, she yelled out, "Debbie! We're on the fat side! We need to get to the other side!" I was mortified! I was so thankful that there was hardly anyone in the store at that time. The dear lady is 85 and always says whatever thought crosses her mind. She doesn't get to go on road trips anymore, so we overlooked her little idiosyncrasies and were glad she had a good time. :)

Froggy, my eyes are still not right. I see the doctor again on Thursday. It will all work out, I'm just impatient. I have a headache by the time I get home from work everyday, so I'm hoping the doctor gets it right this time. Thanks for asking.

Phoo, I'm so glad your cancer meds are working! We want you around here for a long time!

Eva, I'm glad your niece was there to help your sister. That must have been so scary for her. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Wog, don't overdue it. Those coughs can hang on and you need to get well.

Froggy, listen to Phoo. He had good advice for you! ;)

Surfie, I love your life stories. I'm glad you're now living close by your family. It must be nice to be home again. :)

Good night deer pond friends. I love you all. :)
