  1. Shhhhh, 'Woggy's still asleep. In fact, I have no 'Wog or Wolf! Anybody have a church they go to? Temple yesterday? Eva, what's a Jewish service like?

    Good Morning!

    1. Shhhhh, don't wake her. What'cha doin' today? It is damp and gloomy at our house.

Paget should be coming home after visiting her darling baby grandson this weekend. They grow and change so fast at that age.

Froggy, since my old pastor left I haven't had a place to go. Am sort of looking for a new place. I have a couple of online ministries that I watch. I too would like to know what a Jewish service is like. I have been to a Messianic Jewish service. I loved the music but was lost when they spoke Hebrew. I wish I knew more. Real Christians love the Jewish people and love and support Israel - God's chosen people.

Last night I went to a "prepper party." My SIL's brother is selling preparedness products. I went mostly for information. After being without water twice lately I have been thinking about what I can do about being ready for an emergency. One guy who's job is to train people for rescue, safety and emergencies said that this state has enough 1st responders to take care of people from Tacoma to Everett and the rest of us will be on our own in an emergency. A lot to think about.

    2. Right you are about real Christians loving the Jewish people and supporting Israel. As our Lord told everyone who would listen, gentiles who believed in Him and His words were among God's chosen people. Sure irritated a lot of politicians. Maze!

    3. One more thing, for Gloria. I lived most of my adult life in SoCal, where I raised my son. Got prepared for earthquake reasons, a habit I continue to this day in OKC. I won't spend my time worrying about nuclear war or collapse of the dollar or martial law. Still, I'm prepared. Now for tornadoes instead of earthquakes.

There are a lot of places on the net to get opinions about what you should have in case of disaster. And you will pay a pretty penny for it. Me? I just thought about what me, my husband and our son would need to survive for a month.

I continue being prepared to this day. Hubs is in Heaven and son is in San Francisco. I am still prepared for 3 people. And didn't pay any company a dime. I'll tell anyone here what I've stocked up on if you want to know! For free!

    4. Surfie, one thing is making sure that we have things for Livvy. The medical formula for PKU that she drinks is very important to her health. She drinks it 3 to 4 times a day mixed in water. She has special very low protien food too. Trying to take trips even short ones is challenging.

  2. shuuush. Quiet good morning. Is Wog better?

Even though I was raised in church, I'm not a church goer. Doesn't stop me from reading the Bible, having Christian friends, praying, meditating, and having a close relationship with God.

I attended the bar mitzvah for one of my son's close friends. After getting over being annoyed that the service would take 3 hours, I was swept up in the history and devout faith. It was beautiful and moving. Of course, the big party afterward was wonderful!

On a personal note, today is the OKC Memorial Marathon. The run is in memory of victims of the Murrah Building attack by Timothy McVeigh. It made me happy to know that 10 runners from the Boston Marathon are in this, and that so many local runners are wearing red socks. The route will take them a few blocks from where I live, so I can go over and cheer them on.

God Bless America. Land that I love.

    1. Surfie, I have friends that remind me to "forsake not the gathering of the saints." I have sat under a pastor with a wonderful anointing so if I cannot find a church that will help me to grow in faith I don't see the point. I am not in a hurry.

I love, love love my deer Pond friends.

    2. Gloria, you are among the gathering of the saints right here.

You will not burn in hell or be guilty of some churchy law by not going to church every time the doors open.

If you want to be part of organized religion in your community, I pray that you find it. Spiritual sister to spiritual sister, may you talk with our Father, face to face, and be blessed in your own relationship with Him. Forget the church people. Talk with your father on your own and by yourself. He'll lead you.

  3. Yesterday was the St John Stock Show. That means a parade, judging events at the fairground and 4H stuff. They do it twice a year. My little grandson Joel let me know that he rode his bike with training wheels in the parade - a big deal and got to go to the horse barn to ride a friends pony. Livvy's school band marched in the parade. They were dressed like the Village People and did YMCA. The parade is so small that they sometimes circle around and go through twice. The high schoolers were making and selling crepes as a fund raiser. I have to make it over to see all this. I miss out on to much fun stuff.

  4. I don't believe a person has to go to church to be close to God. And being close to God is what the Jews value. Some of the best prayers I've said have been from a hospital bed--and some of the most worthless time I've spent is hearing some lay preacher spout nonsense, so God is where we best find Him to be.

Surfie, I always remember the OKCity bombing; Sissy and I were going to go on vacation that year down there, but didn't want to get in the way as it had just happened. It's something that is very close to my heart; Ma work for Feds for along time.

Gloria, deer, who is Livvy? I may have missed something...

'Wogness is still resting--when the cat doesn't want her!

    1. Froggy, Livvy is my grandaughter Olivia who is 13 years old now. She is a bright beautiful artistic young lady who happened to be born with a genitic disorder - PKU. I think I have told about it before. The treatment is a very special diet.

    2. I must have missed you telling about it, Gloria--I do that frequently due to my various conditions and medicines. I know about PKU--I so glad she's doing well with it!

  5. Fellow ponderers, I have not been in a church in about twenty years. Yet, don't have a guilt problem because my Lord and Savior Jesus has not said go. My neighbor Ron is a Baptist and has invited Page and me to join him for services on Sunday morning. I just may say OK some Sunday when I feel well.
Froggy, just remember when you were suffering abuse on the 'other site' well, God used that to link us together and you created this site and this family. I Love You All!!!!
