  1. Good Morning Pond Family,
Did all of our pet-babies survive the fireworks? It must be so scary for them...and no place to hide. It wasn't too noisy at our new place, but Wolfie still got a little skittish.

Phooey and Surfie, we are hooked on NCIS. And because we've never seen them, we have about 10 years of episodes to go.

    1. Good morning to all. Wow, there sure was a lot going on yesterday. Our poor Peanut. She didn't like the noise verry much.

Wog what channels do you get NCIS on? I am looking for something new to watch.

Froggy, I am so glad that you got your meds for the month. I have been meaning to ask if you have had any improvement in your breathing problems since moving to your new place.

Today I have a follow up appt with my surgeon. No fears. I believe I am just fine.

    2. Hi Wog, I wanted to tell Phooey and everyone with scared pets, that we found a product that helps. It's a collar we bought from the vet. It's a D.A.P. Calming Collar. The price was $24.00, but I'm sure it is cheaper online. We put it on Kaiser yesterday morning before the local yokels got into it. He slept right through the fireworks! Didn't even start shaking! We were amazed! We plan to keep it on him a few more days, as leftover fireworks will likely be shot off all weekend.

It's funny, but Chance didn't seem bothered at all by the fireworks.

    3. Gloria, we get NCIS on 58 USA channel, I believe. The current episodes at night probably come on something different.

    4. Oh, and yes, my breathing is much better over here--we don't have black mold in the windows here. It's real modern. I was able to give up my steroid spray I was on. Thank you for your prayers, Gloria. Prayers help the best!

    7. Froggy,

Glad to hear you are doing better! The right apartment really can make all the difference. We've lived in some toxic apartments, so I can relate. :)

  2. It got very noisy here last night, but neither Puffin nor Bambu paid any attention. I guess after 17 years, they've realized that loud noises can't hurt them. Either that or their hearing has deteriorated. At this age, it's possible.

    1. We had a big black furry cat--'Nadobear--and she didn't mind them in the least.

  4. Frog, I was hoping your breathing would be better when you moved. Yay!

I spent yesterday at my sister's, cooking, swimming, diving. Pool party and cookout at her house. It was a lot of fun until some people went past their limit of beer consumption. It is a sad thing to watch

Anyway, got home and watched hours of NCIS marathon. Thought I'd seen every episode, but I was wrong! Saw some new ones last night.

Yesterday was my SIL's 60th. She and my brother just wanted to be alone, since her Daddy recently passed away. Just got off the phone. They are feeling better, so I'm going to see them tomorrow.

Can't believe it's only Friday. I have 2 more glorious days off work! YAY!

  5. Today's stories is what makes The Pond a special Home. Thank you Sis for giving us this place. I want you to know how much we appreciate you.

About "Nadobear... Her name was Tornado because she would dash around the room. When we got the two babies at five weeks old -Zebrabear and Boris-, our beautiful big black cat would arch her back and fluff her tail and hop sideways. We call that "halloweening." It was a treat to see that.

Quickly I shortened all their names. They became "Nado, Zee, and Boris (couldn't shorten that one!).
