  1. Writing this update on Wednesday evening.
We got a very unhappy Froggy moved to rehab center in Federal Way. She was in a lot of pain from getting in and out of beds and wheel chairs. We both cried when I had to leave to catch bus home. I got to stay overnight at the hospital. I feels very lonely without Froggy at home.

I read all the posts from the last couple days. They couldn't have touched me more!

Eva, what you said to our Phooey and our Page was beautiful. So Phooey and Page, let me second it..."We are sending healing love to heal your broken hearts." We all know the pain of losing our beloved "babies and little friends."

    1. I wasn't expecting a new picture - very pretty. I was just about to publish my reply this morning but my computer interrupted for a very imnportant update ....grrrr. Now I am trying to remember what I wrote.

Wog, how long will it take you to get from home to Federal Way?

I am thinking about Page and Phoo and how knowing about friends loosing their beloved family pets triggers a remember kind of emotion and the ache comes all over again.

    2. Wog, Please remind Froggy that this is temporary - she will get through this! We're all praying for her and send our love and prayers!

Phooey and Page, I'm so sorry for your loss. It takes me back to the loss of my dear dog Kramer in 2009. It felt like my heart was breaking. We really do feel your pain, and send our love and prayers to you too.

    3. Gloria,
It takes about 30-45 minutes. I think it takes longer, and I just lose track because I'm looking at everything you don't get to see when you are driving. I take a bus from Avalon Care Center to Federal Way Transit Center. Then get on an express bus to downtown Seattle. Then catch a bus up the hill, and voila, I'm home.

I found another, faster bus that stops at Virginia Mason near our apartment. But it only stops in the morning, and so far I've missed it.

Today, coming home, I got a treat. There were two buses at the transit center, and I caught the second one. I was the only one on the second bus (my own private bus!). And the driver had received a call that said to stay off the freeway because of an accident. The call center never called back and said the freeway was open. So I got a special tour on some Seattle side streets.

      Paget,
I will let Froggy know what you said. I try to keep her updated on the messages, but she is pretty miserable.

  2. OUR GOVERNMENT IS TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF US:

19 ‘right to dry’ states outlaw clothesline bans...

Once upon a time, a clothesline was a standard feature of most back yards. But concern that publicly airing clean laundry attached with clothespins to a rope or wire was unsightly, or obstructed views, or even created a safety risk (strangulation is sometimes cited) led a number of condominium associations and rental property managers to ban clotheslines.

Now, amidst growing concern about wasteful energy use, clothesline proponents argue that the traditional method of drying laundry is not only cheaper but better for the environment. Lawmakers in some 19 states have agreed, enacting "right to dry" laws that prohibit clothesline bans, the Seattle Times reports.

In Washington, however, the idea remains controversial. A proposal by a state lawmaker to protect clotheslines from enforcement ran up against strong opposition from condominium associations, which viewed such legislation as an intrusion on homeowner rights, the newspaper notes.

States that already have such bans include Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin, the Seattle Times reports.

$30 million in $100 bills to be re-inspected and possibly destroyed after printing error

A pile of one hundred dollar bills totaling $30 million must be re-inspected and possibly disposed of after a printing error by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

Taxpayers will be footing the not-yet-determined cost of the review and possible reprinting, in addition to paying to destroy the "blunder" that occurred crafted money.

The latest production problem, called “mashing,” occurred at the Washington, D.C. printing plant of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

During printing this summer, too much ink was used and thus the lines on the artwork aren’t as clear as they should be, a spokesperson for the Bureau told the Daily News.

Star on the one hundred dollar bill?

The star next to the serial number on a US $100 bill (or any US bill, for that matter) means that it is a replacement bill. In the dollar bill production process, 32 bills are printed on a single sheet (4 bills by 8 bills). The sheets are stacked 100 high and then cut, resulting in 32 stacks of 100 bills each (with the last two digits in order from "00" through "99"). Each sheet is inspected, however, before being added to the stack to be cut - should an error be found, the sheet is destroyed and a sheet of "star bills" is inserted in its place (so as not to foul up the count).

  4. I had one of the saddest conversations with my father last night, talking about how this country has fallen apart. One of the most bizarre aspects is how most people just don't know. I feel pretty hopeless now about keeping the House or taking the Senate. The bombardment of Hillary news has started and will become unrelenting. I'm getting closer and closer to just taking care of my family and saying to hell with anything else. This administration has done so much damage and so fast. I never would have believed it.

Please give Froggy my love and tell her to keep her spirits up. We need a fully mended Froggy to come home soon!

    1. Eva, I know what you mean about the way things seem. I get so down about it at times I end up crying about this great country. How far down do we have to go before the citizens wake up.

I posted a prayer and a scripture. It helped me today.

    2. Eva,

Everything about our government is making me sad, angry, and just astonished about the lawlessness of our current administration! I agree with Mark Levin when he calls our GOP leaders, French Republicans. They just roll over and play dead instead of taking a stand on anything! We have a handful of conservative statemen that still derserve to be there, but the others are just pathetic. Last week there was a discussion here about Mark Levin's new book, "The Liberty Amendments". I'm not sure if this is the solution, or if it will change things, but he has an idea and it gives me hope! That is what we need right now. I've got it on my nook, and plan to start reading it tonight.

    3. Actually, the only thing that made me happy was hearing that Mark's book just zoomed up the charts to #1. Maybe there is hope after all.

  5. This has been a real crappy week for my deerest Ponders. Even though I have been spending time with Val and the grands the week has had some challenges. Specifically major car problems with their very old, old station wagon that seats 8.

So I just want to share today's reading from One Voice Ministries:

    No Thought, No Worries![Thursday, August 15, 2013]
“Command your thoughts to come in order, says the Lord. For there is no need to live fretting over what could happen and seems eminent. Know that everything is subject to change and adjustment under the hand of My might and power. Therefore, don’t worry or fret!”

    Prophetic Scripture:

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on… (Matthew 6:25).

When things in life don’t go just right, it can be tempting to give into fret and worry. We can start mulling thoughts over and over in our mind, wondering what could happen. When we get caught up in that cycle, we start to conjure all sorts of negative scenarios in our minds that are excessive and inflated. Jesus told us to take control of our thoughts and not allow our minds to dwell on “what ifs.” We need to make a practice of living above this tempting habit. In Matthew 6, Jesus tells us repeatedly not to take on worrisome thoughts about our lives and futures. It must be a common problem with people or Jesus
wouldn’t have had to mention it so much.

The best way to take authority over fretful thoughts is to speak to them. Command all fearful thoughts to leave you. Keep doing it over and over if necessary, but the key is to discipline your mind not to go there! Just dwell on God’s promises and tell yourself—no thoughts and no worries!

    Prayer:

Father, I make a decision to cast down every worrisome and fearful thought today. I bind all forms of fear and command my mind to come into divine order right now! I take up no negative thoughts and I am worry free! In Jesus’ Name, amen.

    2. I like this prayer, too! I'm going to repeat and repeat. When a negative thought enters my mind, I'll repeat.

I've gotten pretty good at not dwelling on the "what ifs". They do waste time. What I need to get better at is banishing the negativity and the feeling of helplessness.

    3. Gloria, Deer Gloria...
Thank you for the Scripture and the prayers.
      It's just what we needed.

I am tired and going to bed now.
      Love to everyone.

  6. Wonderful and uplifting scripture and conversation today. No wonder why I love being a member of this family.

Wog, I have a couple of questions. Can Froggy receive personal things in rehab? Cards? Gifts? Flowers? Food? If she can't receive things there, can I send some goodies to you and will they let you give them to her?

I want to at least send her a card. Maybe some flowers or a balloon boquet. Or something to read. Just thought it might make time in rehab a little brighter if she got a surprise delivered to her.

How are you doing, Wog? You are in my prayers just as much as Froggy. You must be stressed and tired to the max. Please pace yourself. Surfie Smooch!

Phooey, how are you and Page doing? You know you both are in our circle of love and prayers with the Seattle Sisters.

  7. Page and I want to thank each of you for your kind words and expression of sympathy for our loss. Katie was 19yrs old and lived far longer than expected. The Vet was amazed. I love you all!
Now, focus on Froggy and 'WOG.
Pray for the Doctors and therapists that treat Froggy and endurance for 'WOG.

  8. Hi Ya'll...
I am home now after my daily bus adventure. Froggy is so sad when I leave, and I am sad to leave her behind.

It is kinda late (almost 8:30 here) and I have to throw in a load of laundry before I can rest. Will be back online soon. I had a surprise box at the front door. Savoring the surprise til I come back in the house. Going outside on patio a few minutes to look at the flowers while laundry is laundering.

NCIS is still on. We had it on all day at the rehab place.
