  2. It happened. She is in surgery right now at Virginia Mason hospital. It's only a block and f from home.

I was downstairs watching a movie with residents, and firemen came to the door and wanted to know how to get in our apartment. Froggy managed to pull phone onto floor and call 911. Se has a spiral fracture of the femur.

Do you want to know more? They will push a rod up through the knee into the bone to hold it in place. Not sure what happens after that. We may need a care-giver to help so that I can go to work.

On my way back to hospital now. Last night I froze at hospital until I got a blanket at bedtime. I was wearing summer shorts and no jacket. I will let you know more when I can get back to a computer. They take good care of her at this hospital.

    Love my Pond Family.

  4. Hi All, I found a computer at the hospital. Froggy is still in surgery. Just want to thank everyone for your prayers and support. Going back to the room now and wait. We are in a new wing of the hospital, and I don't know my way around. But I did manage to find the cafeteria!!! ('WOG always finds the food.)

Love to all, from the Frog Sisters

  5. I snuck (or is that sneaked) out of the room for a minute. Froggy is in her room. Surgery and recovery room took about four hours.

Froggy's a real trouper. She keeps dozing, forgetting to breathe, and setting off some kind of aggravating beeping noise. Her dinner, if she can stay awake long enough to eat it, is a toasted bagel with cream cheese.

She is doing fine. Remember, just keep posting on Grumpy Cat picture. Don't you just love this cat. I loved today's caption.

  6. Wog,I have been gone most of the day but the two of you have been on my mind all day. How could this have happened? She must have fallen hard to break her femur. I will keep coming back to check.

  7. Dear, dear Froggy! I'm so sorry this happened. How did it happen? It goes without saying that you are in our prayers. We love you!

  8. SUNDAY MORNING...Froggy had fitful night. Lot of pain. The dear nurses are doing their best to make her comfortable. And she is very worried about everything. I don't know much else yet...how many days in hospital, etc.
I'll drop by POND later this afternoon.

    Everyone enjoy your weekend.
Love you all, Froggy and WOG

    2. Hi Phooey,
I've told Froggy that everyone asked about her. She smiled. Seems a little more talkative now. That's a good sign. She felt pretty hopeless yesterday.

I'm okay because I know the route through the hospital to the cafeteria! They have Froggy in a new wing, so I had to wander around before I could find a path to the old wing. I use pictures hung on the walls as my guides. Isn't that what all good Girl Scouts do?

      More later. Drop by anytime.

I saw on the news that they killed that (amber alert) kidnapper in Idaho, and the teenage girl is okay. Wonderful to get some good news!

  9. 'WOG, I'm calling Froggy's room but no one answers. What should I do?

  10. Phooey,
So glad that you kept calling back. When I am in the room, I can get the phone, and hand it to Froggy. It was so sweet of you to call. She felt better after talking with you. It has been such a difficult adjustment. All these changes happened so quickly.

She is in a new part of Virginia Mason Hospital, so each room has a small bed for someone to stay with the patient. I've made my self at home with sodas, candy, crossword puzzles. Yes, I did sleep in my raincoat last night. I changed that this afternoon for a sweatshirt. That will be warm and a lot more comfortable to sleep in.

Froggy moved her legs over the side of bed to eat dinner. She is really trying hard to get better.

Love to everyone, and thank you for the kind words for Froggy.

  12. Poor, poor Froggy! Something dramatic always happens when I'm away from the computer. Please pass my love and best wishes for a fast recovery to your sis, 'Wog. I can just see her fretting about everything when she's supposed to be healing. My goodness, a broken bone! I'm just flabbergasted. I'm sending all sorts of healing vibrations her way and will check in more often to keep up with the new.

  13. GOOD MONDAY MORNING:
Froggy is anxious about what is going to happen next...we don't what is going to happen next! When I can go back to our apartment, I'll put up a new picture. And I want to listen to music that Phooey suggested.

I saw on the news that a 40-foot sinkhole opened up near Disney World, Florida, and collapsed a 3-story building. That must be a worry for the Disney people. You never know when a sinkhole will sink.

What's everyone doing today? This week?

I'll keep you updated on Froggy's progress.
