  1. Welcome Ponders, welcome to the day...
    Anything newsy going on?

I'm not ready to start the day. The apartment is so quiet, and it's cold outside. Going back to bed. Froggy will have therapy in the morning, so will begin my bus trek about 10am.

  2. NEWS TO START THE DAY:

Obama administration asks Supreme Court to allow warrantless cellphone searches

    (snip)
In 2007, the police arrested a Massachusetts man who appeared to be selling crack cocaine from his car. The cops seized his cellphone and noticed that it was receiving calls from “My House.” They opened the phone to determine the number for “My House.” That led them to the man’s home, where the police found drugs, cash and guns.

The defendant was convicted, but on appeal he argued that accessing the information on his cellphone without a warrant violated his Fourth Amendment rights. Earlier this year, the First Circuit Court of Appeals accepted the man’s argument, ruling that the police should have gotten a warrant before accessing any information on the man’s phone.

The Obama Administration disagrees. In a petition filed earlier this month asking the Supreme Court to hear the case, the government argues that the First Circuit’s ruling conflicts with the rulings of several other appeals courts, as well as with earlier Supreme Court cases. Those earlier cases have given the police broad discretion to search possessions on the person of an arrested suspect, including notebooks, calendars and pagers.

  3. THERE'S SOMETHING ROTTEN IN THE APPLE BARREL:

Just How Corrupt Is the Obama Administration?
    By Arnold Ahlert

Scandal after scandal, coupled with an ongoing contempt for the law and the Constitution, demonstrated by high-level officials and the president himself, point to one deeply troubling conclusion: the Obama administration may be the most corrupt administration ever inflicted on the American public. And while the mainstream media have done a remarkable job deflecting much of that reality, even they cannot keep up with the avalanche of disturbing revelations that arise, seemingly on a daily basis.

  4. I am totally at loose ends this morning. Going downstairs to look at the flowers, and get a feel for the day. Will leave soon for bus ride to spend day with Froggy. All worries can wait til I get home.

Love you Ponders. You keep me going!

  5. We're here for you, 'Wog, even when we don't post. I think about you & Froggy every day. I wish I had been able to reconnect with my sister and start again, but it wasn't to be. I've accepted it, but I'll always be sorry about it.

Hope Froggy survived her therapy today. Those people have no mercy!

  6. Hi Eva, Hi Ponders...
My feet hurt. Did a lot of walking today. When I got home and checked the phone, I had five messages. Three were about jobs. So I have a phone interview Weds morning about a real job. AARP called to tell me that I have an interview for temporary work on Thursday at 9am. And I forget what the other one is. I hope I wrote down everything. Don't want to think about anything right now. Going to watch "Dance Moms."

Eva, thank you for the encouragement. It's time to make "take one day at a time" a reality. You take care. How's those teeth? Sometimes it's a chore to visit dentist, but it feels good when it's over.

Yes, our Deer Froggy is miserable. She is doing physical therapy in the mornings, and then her leg really hurts the rest of the day. And we are both sad when I have to leave.

  7. Hi Wog,

Please give Froggy my love too. I would hope they'd give her enough pain meds to help her through her day! Prayers that she will get through this, and be home soon!

On a happier note, I'm glad you have some good job options! Good luck at your interviews. I'll be praying for you too. :)

    Love to all from Paget
