Let's go for Monday AND Tuesday.

It's always a Nice Day at The Pond!

  1. Where's all our Frog Hoppers today? Is everyone on vacation? Might as well do it now before the warm switches off and changes to cold. Except for Florida which doesn't seem to get cold.

Froggy is doing great with her exercises. She changed her doctor appt to Thursday morning. They will transport her from care center to Virginia Mason in Seattle. That's only a block from our house, so I will meet her there, take her in for the doctor appointment. Funny how things just work out.

    2. Hi Wog, It sure is nice that things are working out! Froggy is a real trooper!

I hear that this week will be warm in WA state. :) At least your travels back and forth won't be in nasty weather.

    3. Paget, I know what you mean about the weather in WA State. Some days I wore my raincoat, and it didn't rain. I was so hot in that coat. Then I wore a light jacket, and it poured. After that, I just gave up.

  2. KERRY JUST DOESN'T GET IT:

A seemingly off-hand comment from President Obama's secretary of State has touched off a rapid-fire chain of events that threatens to undermine the president's call for a military strike on the Assad regime.

Secretary of State John Kerry, during an early morning press conference in London on Monday, was asked whether the Assad regime could do anything to avert an attack. "Sure," Kerry responded. "(Bashar Assad) could turn over every single bit of his chemical weapons to the international community in the next week."

    1. Hi Phooey,

It's nice to see you're back to your own single comments. :) I noticed my comment below to Surfie had a funny blog symbol next to it. Strange, how these things happen! :) Happy stressfree week to you too. :)

    2. Hi Phooey,
I love your wish for "Stress-Free Days." I vote for that! I try to give myself a little time each evening to do just want I want.

I come home and call Froggy. Then I empty my backpack onto the sofa, turn on the TV, open the windows, turn on the lights, and go down stairs, and pet the flowers. Yes, I said that I pet the flowers. I tell the snapdragons how much everyone enjoyed them this summer, and how much we will miss them when they are all gone.

  4. Wog, that is fantastic news about Froggy's move!!! Love it when good things happen for good people! Keeping you both in the circle of prayer.

Have laptop, will travel. I'll try to keep you updated during my trip. Doing laundry tonight. Packing after work tomorrow. Flying early thirty Wednesday. Can hardly wait to give that boy of mine a kiss on the cheek and long Momma Bear hug!

Eva and Joe left Los Angeles on Wednesday. We should be hearing from them (I hope) any time now. Keeping them in the circle of prayer!

    Love you all.

    2. Surfie,
Safe trip to you. This is a nice time of year by the beach. How long a flight?

Seems like it took us a couple hours to fly from Denver into San Diego. I really don't know how pilots drop off those San Diego hills and zip onto the tarmac. I loved flying over the San Diego Zoo, and knowing that I was home.

  5. Hi all. Sounds like there is a lot going on this week.

Wog, will Froggy stay at Virginia Mason or will she br returned to the therapy center? Will continue prayer for you both and all my other Pond friends.

This week the weather is supposed to really heat up for us, possibly high 80's. With that in mind I decided to do a last lawn mowing and some yard clean up today. I may try to can some green beans tomorrow if I am feeling energetic.

Scott started watching football at 4:00. I really need to find some movies to watch. I am not into football like everyone else.

    1. Hi Gloria,

Watching a 3 hour football game is not my thing either, but I sure like to see the Seahawks win! :)

    2. Wog, as soon as I could I ordered Mark Levin's new book on audio from the librery. I should be able to start that soon.

    3. Oops, I meant to say Paget. It's that funny way I have.

    4. Froggy mostly watches Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos. I just saw that the Chargers were playing this evening, but can't get into it this tonight.

Gloria, Froggy just coming to Seattle's Virginia Mason for doctor visit (visit with surgeon), then has to go back to Federal Way Care Center. The care center is using their van to drive her back and forth. I'll post an update when we find out more.

I got a call left on home phone from AARP. Probably to let me know what days I am working at Salvation Army. I have to let them know that I can't work this Thursday. It's a start!

  6. Hi Everyone!

Finally have a moment to check in. I'm writing from Effingham, IL. Doesn't that name just kill you?

Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes. We needed them and they worked in all sorts of ways.

This will be disjointed because I'm typing quickly and am going to be interrupted any minute.

It was crazy when we left L.A. and hot as Hades (105). It's been pretty hot across the country, too. We went through OKC yesterday, Surfie, and I waved in all directions so I could be sure to catch you.

The cats have been good as gold and at this point (Day 5), they are old hands at the routine. When I get the chance I'll write more about it.

Oh dear, have to go now. Love you all and I'll get back on as soon as possible. Hopefully, tonight from PA.

  7. Surfie, we'll be surrounding you also with prayer during your travels. Say Hi!(or Howdy!) to the guardian angels assigned to you.

  8. Hi All...
I'm writing from care center while Froggy naps. My Goodness, frogs nap a lot. LOL
Word from Eva. That was exciting. They are moving right along across this big country. I don't think they'll find any cool weather by going East.

Thank you, Phooey, for saying just the right prayers for our traveling Ponders.

  9. So great to hear from Eva. Glad they're safe and only a few days from home.

Thanks for the prayer thoughts for me, Phooey. I'm giving myself extra time for airport check-ins tomorrow because of the day.

I'm packing, cleaning out the fridge, taking the trash out, painting my nails tonight. Will check in as soon as I can.

    Love you all!

  10. I'm home. Waiting to do Froggy's laundry. Someone beat me to the machines, so I've been walking around the building looking for people to talk with. Said Hi to the snapdragons. They are still blooming.

  11. SOMETHING WORTHWHILE ON THE TELE:

Hero Dogs of 9/11 Premieres Tonight on Animal Planet

If you find yourself tiring of watching poll results trickle in, here's a worthy distraction: Animal Planet will premiere a one-hour documentary on 9/11 K-9 Disaster Relief units. Hero Dogs of 9/11 goes on tonight at 8 p.m. The special will tell the story of handler Frank Shane, a man with 30 years' experience handling working dogs, and his canine partner Nikie, the only dog permitted on the 16-acre Ground Zero site after the towers came down.

But more than that, the story is about the role dogs had in caring for the living left in the wake of catastrope. Nikie was not a search-and-rescue animal; he was there to help the responders.
