Friday. For each of us and those we love.

  1. Friday is the day we wait for. I don't know how to start the day. Eva and Joe, take it easy. You have to take care of Bambu. Phooey, looks like you'll get some rain, but not a hurricane. That's good news. Surfie, Paget are you working today. I'm getting ready for my little job. I'm thankful for the work. Gloria, what's up at your place?

Froggy called. Said she is coming home next Wednesday, not Tuesday. I'll go up Saturday and Sunday and find out the plans.

Will post some news when I get home. Harry Reid has been saying stupid things about the GOP being anarchists. The problem is that people believe stupid things when they are told stupid things.

    Love to all...

  2. In some ways, today has been easier. I'm sure all of your wonderful posts from yesterday helped. Surfie, you made me cry and I take your words to heart. Puffin is indeed in a better place, pain-free and unrestricted. I sent a quick prayer to Boomer to look out for him.

I love being near the water. I sat on the sand this morning and watched the waves roll in, over and over. I listened to the gulls cry and dive for fish. I took some pictures. I felt better.

What I don't feel better about is the bs going on in D.C. If only we had the media the Dems have. What must it be like to lie and never worry about being caught? To make stupid mistakes, say ridiculous things and have the power of the press back you up. Unbelievable.

  3. Yes, Wog, I've been working today. Mon-Fri usually from 7-5. Hope you are lovin' your job and that moving Froggy back home goes well. You are both always in my prayers.

Eva, I'm glad to have given you even a little bit of comfort. There's something about sitting on a beach that is so spiritual, isn't it? That's one of the reasons I miss my life on the beach in Malibu so much. I now live on the north shore of a big lake. Not as awesome as the ocean, but it's pretty good. When you say your prayers today, please ask God to send Boomer and Puffin to tell my Duchess and Lancer and Skippy that I love them. You know they must all be having a fabulous time together!

It's still 90 degrees around here. Big cold front to arrive in the wee hours. Temp supposed to drop 30 degrees. You know what happens when a cold front slams into hot air? Thunderstorms! Thank You, Lord, for thunderstorms.

Love you all, Deer Pond Family. See you tomorrow!

  4. You know that God must have a place for such sweet animals who show so much love to us. So Eva, I hope Boomer and Puffin can greet our little guys too... our Daddy Munk (Montgomery), Zee, Boris (little Bad Boris), 'Nado (short for Tornado),Wolfie if he's there, and Scooter my sweet little best-friend dog. I miss 'em all.

  5. NEWS NONSENSE:

The reminder comes after Reid spent Thursday taunting Boehner as a coward who is singlehandedly keeping the partial government shutdown in force.

"We can't perform the most basic functions of government because (Boehner) doesn't have the courage to stand up to that small band of anarchists," Reid said, arguing that Boehner could lift the government freeze by putting a spending bill on the floor and letting mostly Democrats pass it.

  6. YELLOW DIAMONDS:

$55 million yellow diamond necklace goes on sale

SINGAPORE - For someone with $55 million to spare on an egg-sized diamond, the world's most expensive necklace is on sale this month at a jewelry show in Singapore, reflecting Asia's growing appetite for precious gems and expensive baubles.

Known as L'Incomparable, the necklace created by luxury jeweler Mouawad features a yellow, internally flawless diamond of more than 407 carats suspended from a rose gold setting that is studded with 90 white diamonds weighing nearly 230 carats.

    (snip)
The necklace, whose centerpiece diamond was found by chance in a pile of mining rubble by a young girl in the Democratic Republic of Congo about 30 years ago, will be the flashiest item on offer at the Singapore JewelFest on October 11-20.

    2. Hi Phoo-man...
I didn't know that diamonds came in different colors. And I can't even imagine one that is that big. The Smithsonian used to have a famous one on display that had a curse attached. Don't remember the name of it.
