Good Morning, Pond People!

  1. My goodness, I'm still trying to get the number of the truck that ran us over... The 'Wog is trying to do some dishes (she's washed 3 forks...) and I'm trying to sit upright... Eva, I had no idea you were sick with this junk, wow; I'm praying you and Surfie are recovering and that none of the rest of you get it. Never felt so gawdawful in my life... At least that clawed-out throat thing and cough is abating.

Here I am, PhooBad--sorry I missed your call, but I didn't have any voice for a couple days. Thank you Paget for your lovely personal note. Glory, how are you? You get snow yesterday--we did! Downtown and the Presby Churchyard were all white lace trees and snow globe! Just beautiful! Paget, Linda said y'all were down in the 20's? Wow!

PhooFrog, that football game was a big disappointment, but the one before it with San Fran was good. Green Bay disappointed yesterday. You know, Denver has always had a problem on the road and they can't read the other team's plays worth a damn--that was mighty sloppy football.

Eva, how's my catzes? Let me know you're all okay. Surfie, do you have an update on Magdalene? Please tell her I am thinking of her and praying for her--I wish she'd write...

I'll try and check in here more...

  2. Morning All.. or is it afternoon already? Can't believe how a cold can take all your energy. And the snow doesn't inspire me to get out of bed either. Will feed those starving Pond Fishies and go back to bed.

  5. Yay!! Hearing from Froggy again is the best way to start the week! I still have the monster cold, but the symptoms are much reduced, thank goodness. I've never had something hang on so long. I'm still waiting to hear from the doc today about the results of my throat culture. I'm sure they didn't find anything, but they said they'd call today and they haven't yet.

In the meantime, I'm taking care of the furballs. They've been sleeping with us every night and, except for the fact that they're such dead weights, it's really nice. We can use their warmth since it's getting pretty cold at night. At least for Southern California. I'll tell them Aunt Froggy was asking about them.

  6. Dragged myself to work and back today. I did feel better this morning. Now that it's the end of the day, I'm worn out and feel terrible. Have only been sick for a week, but this thing is a monster! People all over the country are sick with the same thing, it seems.

Will send Mags an email tomorrow. Right now, all I can do is eat some chicken soup and go to sleep. Get well, everybody!

  7. Great news about Sweet Baby Kaniah. There have been so many changes and improvements in the way burns are treated now. My youngest brother was badly burned when he was a child and still has severe scarring. That was 50+ years ago.

Sounds like folks are finally on the mend.

Froggy and Wog, there was an earthquake this week in North Bend of all places. How weird is that?

  8. My brother also burned/scalded him self 50 or so years ago I have never seen his scars/torso but understand his burns were severe so you understand my families fear and terror at Kaniah!! We give Thanks for all of you who prayed for her!!

  9. Laid down for a little while, and find everyone has been to The Pond... Phooey, Hiker, Eva, Surfie, Gloria.

What a wonderful group we have!

Froggy is dragging, but she is up. I'm helping her. I'm doing better every day, but all of you are right about this cold just keeps hanging on!

Phooey, you're the best! You take such good care of us Pond Gals.
Hiker, sounds like our Sweet Baby Kaniah has been blessed.
Eva, Froggy loves being Aunt Froggy to the furballs.
Surfie, take it easy. I know that work doesn't like people to stay home. Hello to Magdalene from her Pond Friends.
Gloria, we didn't hear about the earthquake. I'm scared to death of earthquakes up here. Used to feel little quakes all the time in California.

We are watching the news about the cruise ship that sank. So sad! Shouldn't have happened!

  10. Hiker, about Kaniah; baby skin is so delicate it's no wonder something that would be an easy recovery for grown ups is a major thing for little ones. The brother that was burned as a little boy had his own little buy scalded in much the same way as your sweet baby. He was so loaded down with guilt and blamed himself for being careless. But babies are resilient and grow up just fine.

May our Father in Heaven bless Kaniah with loving kindness and tender mercies.

  11. Hello friends!

So glad that Froggy and Wog are back! Praying that everyone here gets well!

Great to hear that baby Kaniah is doing so much better!

I'm sorry to bother you all since most of you are under the weather, but I have a big favor to ask. Tomorrow morning I have a job interview for the job I've been trying hard to get for the last 6 months. (My current job is being outsourced) Please say a little prayer for me that I'll be calm and collected. If I can do that, I should do okay!

Thanks everyone; and God bless. :)

  12. Paget, you'll be in my prayers about the job. God found the perfect job for me, and He'll do it for you. I thought God was surely wrong when He brought this job to me from out of the blue. As always, God knew exactly what he was doing because I am working in the perfect place.

Have a good day, everyone. Get well!

  13. Paget, saying prayers for you for your interview. Please let us know how it goes.

Hope everyone continues to get better.

  14. Saying prayers, Paget! I know you'd make a great addition to any workplace, so you're already ahead of the game.

I never heard from the doc yesterday. I wonder if the holiday had something to do with it. Anyway, I've got to go to the dentist. I would have canceled, but I already postponed the last appt to this one. I'm not looking forward to the trek "over the hill" to Santa Monica, Surfie.

I've got to buy MORE kleenex. I'm on my last box again. I'm beginning to wonder if my nose will ever be the same.

  15. Paget, If you look anywhere near Debra Paget.... you don't need skills or prayers. Okay, I lied again. I prayed.
