  1. Happy Sunday ponders! :)

I had a rude awakening this morning when I walked into our living room and saw pieces of egg shell on the floor. My first thought was, how did the dog get into the garbage? (we have a tall metal can and the lid is always closed) Then I looked closer and realized it had been a hand painted, Romanian style egg a friend made for me years ago. Sigh. My kitty, Chance, evidently found it last night, as I had been rearranging my living room decor, and had left it out, unprotected. :( So, Paget did a "stupid human" trick by leaving out something precious which ended up becoming a cat toy! Live and learn...

Eva, after reading your comment this morning about Puffin I was wondering if you've ever tried any 'calm down kitty' pheromone products to keep peace amongst your pets? There is a product called 'Comfort Zone with Feliway plug-in' that is just plugged into the wall outlet around areas where the cats hang out. You might want to buy two of them. It isn't cheap, but it sure helped us years ago, when our son moved in with us and brought his dog. ;) Of course, it sounds like you have rocking entertainment at your house with Puffin and Bambu! This product might help them settle down so you could sleep at night. :) Just a thought...:)

So, Froggy, Wog, and Gloria, what's the weather like over on the wet side? We've had sunshine with cold winds for days. Sure hope the fence holds up!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! Love to all!

  2. Hey everyone! I am finally back online. 2 days without a computer. New computer last week, new modem and had the other one reconfigured. Still we kept losing our connection. FINALLY Comcast sent someone. A really good person this time. He agreed that we need to rewire - that will be done Wed.

I had to go back and read the last two days. I missed a lot. Sincere thank yous for praying for my son. Sometime I will share details but not yet. Right now he just needs to find a job.

Those cwazy katz! Yesterday when the Comcast guy was here I thought she had slipped outside. It was stormy and I was calling her and traipsing around the neighborhood. We loked everywhere. After the guy left she came out of hiding covered with dust and cobwebs. Where ever she was it hadn't seen a dust cloth for a very long time. And she is not saying.

  3. Hi Gloria, Glad you are back! Your story was so funny. Cats are so quiet and sneaky sometimes! Back in the early '70s we had two cats and no kids yet. So, when we couldn't find one of them I would go up and down the street, calling for them, sick with worry. :( They often mysteriously showed up when I was out, and we never could figure out where they had been. One day my brother was visiting when we were out looking for the kitties. He was watching TV, when out crawled one of the cats from under the TV set. (That was back in the day of the HUGE television set cabinets.) He said they always hid under there, and he thought we knew that! We had no idea there was that much "crawl space" under there. :)

See you later pond friends. :)

  4. I'm filling in for Froggy for a while today. She has no get-up-and-go.

Paget, Gloria, Eva, everyone with bad kitties... are they behaving today? We Ponders can always use a good cat story.

Love the cat stories. They can find some brilliant hiding places. When we had three, we tried to find all their secret hiding places. Never found all of them. We used to do a cat-count from time to time every day. And always did a cat-count before going out of the front door.

Gloria...glad you got your computer under control. They are like cars, and get tempermental. I dread when the computer or TV goes screwy or dies. And I dislike moving and having to hook everything back up.

  5. Hi to all. Don't like hearing that Froggy is down today. WOG, is your back better? You two take care of yourselves!

Love hearing the cat stories. Love kitties, even though I haven't had one for a long time. The last kitty who let me live with her was named Lacey. She was a beautiful orange tabby.

    Take care, my friends!

  6. Paget, loved the kitty under the TV story.

  7. When our kitties were kittens, they used to crawl out from under the most amazing things. They never looked like they would fit. But you would see a little nose poking out from under a dresser or low sofa, and in a while they be dashing about the room.

Surfie, thanks for asking about my back. Froggy made me lay down a lot. Back is fine now, but I've twisted something in my wrist. So now I'm walking around with a wrist brace. Do you think I'm trying not to look for a job!

  8. I love these stories! Paget, I'll definitely try to get that plug-in. You're right about it being a good idea at night. During the day, I really don't mind the way they interact with each other. I know there's love there. At night, we could use a little quiet, so I'm going to check it out.

Looking for cats that appear to be lost: yes, it's amazing how they disappear in plain sight sometimes. There have been times when I've spent 15-20 minutes looking in a relatively finite space for a cat. I've gone into a room multiple times, opened drawers, cupboards, and found nothing. I'll walk out of the room and hear a meow behind me. Obviously, he was in the room somewhere, but where? I'd swear I looked in every nook and cranny. It's just magic.

'Wog, take it easy. No sense in going job hunting when you aren't 100 percent okay. Maybe your subconcious is trying to say you need more of a break. You won't lose your edge. Froggy sounds like quite the taskmaker :)!

  9. Oh, yeah, Eva--I'm a beast! Hrumpf! Don't give her ammo--she just uses it as an excuse to to eat ice cream. She drinks Hershey syrup out of the bottle...;-)

Hi, Paget! Hey, why don't we have a picture of Chance? I need to put up Eva's pic of dear Boomer anyway. We'd love to have one. Have I seen him?

I love watching a 10 pound cat crawl into a 2 pound hole!
