  1. How is everyone? Gloria, we're thinking especially about you, dear. Phooey how are you? Surfie, I'm so proud you have a new police officer in your familiy and I wanted to tell you. Where's our cats, Eva? We need a cat story--and to know how you are! Where's our Paget? Hikergal, come on and say hey-y'all ;-)

It rained pretty good right on OccuMess on the first!

  2. Bg is on her way to AZ. She was so excited! She forgot her water bottles and soda pop.But she has her creds and gun LOL.We went to the range, that girl is a crack shot even tho she is like me right handed but a left eye shooter so we have to compensate a bit and practice ,practice, practice. She comes by it from my Mom.Mom was the best natural skeet shooter I have ever seen.I went to States in High School back in the day when you could letter in competitive shooting.Abut 7 years ago I taught myself to shoot left handed with long guns makes it easier.

Surfie you must be so proud of the nephew. It's tough having law enforcement in the family. I have 3 nephews who are officers so I know the drill. I pray daily for these wonderful men and women that protect us here and for our military that make it all possible.

I hope all is well with everyone today.

  3. Hiker, Good morning. I tried shooting a gun. Can't hit the side of a barn.
I tried shooting a bow and arrow. That's even worse! You must be soooo proud of BG.

  4. When I was younger, I could 'shoot from the hip'. I was really good!
Now, I shoot from the lip..... not so good!

  6. Phooey shooting is very natural it's not called point and shoot for nothing. Hand guns are very liquid at target aquiring. It's like throwing a ball, make your finger "point" were you want it to go and practice till you do without thinking Over thinking makes misses. Now with long guns there is more target aquisition and sighting.(unless you use a shotgun at semi close range)Spending time at the range dialing in the scope, distance, windage, wind and cartridge makes a difference.PRACTICE!!!! i LOVE GUNS!. and yes I sleep with the .38under the pillow but only because I want to,it really isn't needed here but I am more comfortable with it nearby now that my Joe is gone. I have even gotten t the point where I can joke about my paranoia with my family
Wog my Mom n Dad had "dates" in the '30's at archery competitions!we are all good on bow's or gun's and it's just practice my kids are awesome at lacrosse,me ,?I can't d anything with it but softball I kill them they aren't very good again practice!

    1. I couldn't find the post, Phoo--how on earth do you all wade through all that Nu and Yotty back and forth?

  8. Gotta go check that Gerty post after this!

Hiker, I'm glad BG is so excited about going back to work. It means so much to the Country that she is enthusiastic about defending it. I, for one, am so grateful that I "know" her now!

Froggy, the furballs are doing well. I have to take Bambu to the vet next week for a follow-up EKG to check his heart condition. He doesn't know yet. The weather has been pretty cloudy the past few days and when there isn't sun, Puffin burrows under the comforter and doesn't come out. Hopefully, as the weather gets better, he'll have some cute shenanigans that I can report.

Phooey, I have a feeling that it's safer for you to be shooting from the lip nowadays :)

How are you feeling, Gloria? Hope you can feel our prayers!
