Enjoy your Saturday at The Pond.

  1. That picture tickled my funny bone. Great way to start my Saturday!

Have a good walk today, Froggy. What's everyone else doing? For starters I'm getting my car serviced and tires rotated, getting my hair trimmed, getting my taxes (spit) together.

From the personal good news department, the couple across the breezeway from me got evicted and moved yesterday. This apt. complex is full of very stable people, except for them. They fought all the time, sometimes even taking it outside. They had a past due rent notice on their door every single month. Also, they had 3 big dogs who were never on a leash and they never cleaned up after them. Then they started just letting them do their business on their patio. One day I noticed 9 big piles of poop on it. Hope they grow up and grab a clue one day. My neighbors and I are just glad they're gone.

Hope everyone has a great day! Will see you later!

    1. Surfie, I really sympathize with you and your neighbors! I'm glad your bad neighbors are gone.

We lived in an apartment years ago. One afternoon at work, I got a frantic call from my daughter. It seemed that a SWAT team was creeping up the stairway to the apartment across from ours. I told her to keep her head down, and call me back when it was over. I guess the people who lived there were selling drugs, etc. We never even noticed them that much. They were evicted too. It was a decent place to live except for that.

    2. Paget, that's a scary story. I've never seen a swat except on TV. Your daughter must have been so nervous. I doubt that we will see any swat in our new place. It's pretty quiet here.

What have you been doing this weekend? We have been hibernating. A little rainy and, of course, cloudy.

  2. Good Morning Surfie, I never mean to be up this early...but we have a cat! Looks like you'll have a nicer neighborhood with those people gone. There always seems to be someone that has no concern for others. Those people never get a clue. They need to go on Dr Phil; he would straighten them out.

Good Morning to our Pond Family: Phooey, Gloria, Paget, Eva.
What's up for your weekend? Anything exciting?

I'm going to look for some news to post. And then a quick nap before I feed the cat again.

    1. Good Morning Phooey (or is it afternoon in Florida?) Anyway it's always a treat to hear from you. Glad you liked today's picture. Don't know how people can think these up. I have been searching for some interesting news articles for today. So drop by later and have a read.

  4. SATURDAY PONDERMENT!

"A New Mexico multimillionaire wants you to get off the couch and go searching for hidden treasure.

Forrest Fenn, 82, believes too many Americans spend their free time watching TV or playing video games. He hopes the bounty he hid — a chest filled with millions of dollars in gold coins, diamonds and emeralds, among other gems — will prompt some to explore the outdoors. "Get your kids out in the countryside, take them fishing and get them away from their little hand-held machines," he told TODAY.

Read these clues to find Forrest Fenn's treasure
    (snip)

"The Thrill of the Chase" is also the title of Fenn's self-published autobiography, which contains an unusual map to the treasure, a poem with 9 clues in it. "Begin it where warm waters halt, and take it in the canyon down, not far, but too far to walk," reads part of the poem.

    1. This sounds like fun! :) There was a treasure hunt reality show a few years ago. I really enjoyed it. :)

    2. Paget, this is a "for real" story. Makes me think of the Lost Dutchman mine. I don't know if anyone ever found that one. I used to read about lost treasures.

  5. MORE "SAY WHAT?"

"Officials at a Florida college ordered a group of students to shut down a Bible study they were holding in the privacy of a dorm room – because it violated the rules.

The incident occurred at Rollins College in the midst of a campus battle over whether religious groups that require their leaders to follow specific religious beliefs are violating the school’s non-discrimination policies."

  6. Oh, what cute cats! 'Woggy finds the best pics! How is everybodyfrog?

It's sunny today; I think we're going to be hot in here--we face south. But maybe that'll be better than being cold. Seattle doesn't do well with happy mediums, it seems.

    Hi Phoo!
