  2. Good Morning, all.

G-d bless Lady Thatcher. What an incredible woman! I hope she is given her due in tributes. So many now don't even know what she did or even who she was (unless they think she's Meryl Streep).

Surfie, your story about your friend, Karen, yesterday was such a blessing to read. She's been through hell and has come back to tell the story. I honestly believe that G-d directed your steps to OKC so you'd be there with her. It's the clearest example I've heard of in a long time. It renews my faith all over again.

The sun is out now, but not sure what the rest of the day is supposed to be like. It doesn't matter, though. I was a slug this weekend and now I have to get going. See ya'll later :)

    1. H Eva, You bring sunshine to The Pond! Seattle started out briskly cold this morning, but not too bad right now. We have some flowering trees outside, and I can't figure out what they are.

  3. Some sad news today about Lady Thatcher. I think that she led with dignity. Many women that lead public lives would do well to be more like her.

So good to come to this place and meet with like minded folks. Eva, I have thought for a long time that Surfie has a real purpose in OKC. From the beginning Surfie has had influence over so many people.

Well, today I am trying to rearrange some furniture and get a handle on getting organized. My house doesn't have much storage so I am working to get things put someplace.

    1. Gloria, if you have "extra" stuff, you can sell it on eBay! I have a few projects to complete, then I am going to try eBay again. One of our buses stops in front of post office downtown. Very handy for eBay.

Do you use those Priority shipping envelopes to ship?
Or maybe those prepaid boxes from post office?

I kind of have to start at the beginning again. I had one person who didn't like me and gave me a bad feedback. I tried to assuage her, but nothing I said worked.

    2. Wog, you are such a smart lady you will have it figured out in no time. As far as the boxes and envelopes go you just have to figure out which one has the lowest shipping cost. A lot of the boxes can be ordered online at USPS.com for free. They bring it to your mailbox.

Have you ever looked at shopgoodwill.com? If you win an auction from Seattle Goodwill you can arrange for an in person pickup. That saves you shipping costs with just a few $ for handling. Then you can resell. Isn't the Goodwill somewhere close to you? Also be on the lookout for people that are moving out of your building.

You never know what kind of people you are dealing with. Twice in a week Val has had 2 Screwie Louies.

    3. Gloria, wish I had come by earlier. Don't know if you'll see this post. Thank you for the eBay info. I have forgotten so much about selling.

I just found today that the Goodwill is selling online. Do ya know how I found out? I was looking for a job, and found that the Goodwill needs 3-4 people to do lisings.

I do remember that I made a chart to keep track of sales, names of buyers, and the date that I mailed the item with the tracking number. That way I would know that the buyer received the item.

Also I typed up a "thank you for your order" along with my eBay name on a third of a sheet of paper. Included my message in the package. I don't know if it helped with sales.

Great idea! I never looked at people moving out as a place to buy things cheap. There is always someone moving out. We don't really have yard sales in the downtown area.

    4. Goodwill is looking for people to do listings? Well, just let me say this about that - they could really use some help in that area. I have seen so many listings that are messed up. Like claiming an item is a certain thing. Fuzzy pictures are bad too. Just go for it and good luck.

  4. Good morning everyone!

I've just caught up reading the last few day's entries. Lots have been going on!

First, I want to join in and say that I have so much respect for Margaret Thatcher! What a great woman! May she rest in peace.

Surfie, I too was so happy to read about your friend Karen. What an inspiring, faith filled story! God's miracles are still happening today! He really has had His hand in your life and in hers. What a blessing. :)

I just read that Annette Funicello died today. She was 70, and had been fighting MS for many years. I always enjoyed watching her on the MM Club, and later in her movies.

Today is my last day at home recuperating from my eyelid surgery. It wasn't too bad, except I really missed reading! Now I am almost back to normal. I'm still rather scary looking, but I feel pretty good. The reason I had the surgery was to improve my field of vision. I guess it's also a common cosmetic surgery, so I do get an added bonus of looking like I'm more awake! Maybe now people won't constantly ask me if I'm tired. :) Thanks for the kind thoughts from you all. :)

    1. YAY! Our Paget is back. Sounds like you are healing right on schedule. I know what you mean about reading. Froggy is a voracious reader on the Internet. We need to get her another pair of glasses so that she can read her books.

  5. Great to hear from you again, Paget. I was wondering how you were recovering from the surgery. You're right that looking younger around the eyes is an added bonus and isn't it great that happens with this? Now you can read and look good doing it :) at least as soon the scary part fades.

I just heard about Annette Funicello died today as well. Another bit of my childhood gone. I live near Disney Studios and I wonder if the gate or something else might have a tribute to her. I'll have to remember to look tomorrow when I drive by. May she rest in peace.

Baronness Thatcher, the last of the troika that toppled international Communism, has joined the Ronald Reagan and John-Paul II in God´s Heaven. The Iron Lady has earned our gratitude, our respect, and eternal rest in glory. An era of temporary respite has indeed passed; tribulations are again at hand. We await - once more - temporary salvation through mortals, or eternal salvation through the Divine.

  7. MARGARET THATCHER - KIND WORDS FROM NANCY REAGAN:

"Mrs. Reagan said Thatcher and President Reagan formed a strong, special bond as leaders of their respective countries “during one of the most difficult and pivotal periods in modern history.”

“Ronnie and Margaret were political soul mates, committed to freedom and resolved to end communism,” Mrs. Reagan said. “As prime minister, Margaret had the clear vision and strong determination to stand up for her beliefs at a time when so many were afraid to ‘rock the boat.’ As a result, she helped to bring about the collapse of the Soviet Union and the liberation of millions of people.”

“The United States knew Margaret as a spirited courageous ally,” Mrs. Reagan said, “and the world owes her a debt of gratitude.”

  8. I'll miss Annette; I wanted to be so like her when I was young.

Paget, take it easy and don't over-do. I hope you heal up nice and quick ;-)

    Hi, Phoobers!

Obama released a really crappy statement about Margaret Thatcher--it was all about him, as usual. I was ashamed he couldn't do better.

  9. Such a loss. I'm grateful to have lived during the time of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. I pray more like them will rise to power in these times. We need them. It really touched me that, sick as she was, she came to President Reagan's funeral. Do a Google search on quotes of hers.

Thanks for the kind posts about Karen and me. Every day, after praying for those on my list, I pray for myself. I ask only 2 things: That God give me wisdom and help me be a blessing to others. There have been so many times when bad things happened, and eventually they worked out to be perfect in God's plan. I struggle with putting myself in His hands all the time. You think I would have learned by now!

OK, I also pray for a safe drive to and from work, protection from tornadoes, miscellaneous small stuff. You get my drift about the 2 major daily prayers!

Speaking of tornadoes, tomorrow night and Wednesday are looking like our first big storms of Spring. I'm ready as I can be!

    Love you deer Pond family.
