  1. Good Morning Pond Family...
I thought I'd start the day with a "feel-good" story. Nice to know that there is some good news in the world.

"Happy Reunion for Airman and Dog"
    By vetstreet.com

"There was plenty of tail wagging and kisses when 6-month-old Lyla was reunited with Air Force Staff Sgt. Tom Burright at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Burright had found the pup while he was serving in Afghanistan and quickly fell for the adorable dog. "She lived in my room with me. Slept in my bed. I brought her food from the chow hall. She ate everything I did," said Burright.

But when it was time for him to rotate back to Texas, he couldn't afford the $4,000 needed to bring her home with him. So, he created a video about their situation and asked The Puppy Rescue Mission, which saves dogs who belong to soldiers, for help.

Within six hours, the group had raised the money to bring Lyla to Texas, and the puppy was back with Burright on Wednesday, after spending about a month apart. -

  2. Thanks for the story, Wog. Wonderful way to start my Saturday. Amazing how fast the money was raised to bring Lyla home. There are lots of good people in this country.

From yesterday, did you know that Maria Tallchief was from Fairfax, OK and from the Osage tribe? I read her Wikipedia page. Interesting.

What's everyone doing today? Doing my taxes and starting Spring cleaning. There must be something wrong with me because I actually like doing Spring cleaning.

    See everyone later!

    1. Good Morning Surfie, Nice to have company in the early morning. By now you might have finished your spring cleaning. How's the progress?

I did read that Maria Tallchief was from an Oklahoma tribe. What a beautful dancer she was. I need to check and see if there is a YouTube of her dancing.

There must be more interesting news out there. I'll check later. In the meantime I'm crawling back in be before Wolfie decides he needs another meal. My, how fast he got control of his new family.
