Sunday. Such a wonerful day!

  1. Good morning! Want to hear a happy story?

Remember my oldest and deerest friend Karen? Her birthday was yesterday. About 20 of us got together for Caesar salad and pizza.

A year ago, we didn't know if she'd still be with us today. After an 18 hour brain surgery, months of brain radiation, then months of radiation for the huge malignant tumor on her chest, she's still with us. And her treatments are over. She's blind in one eye and still needs a walker, but now she can get on with physical therapy and get on with her life!

You could see the relief in her face, and in her husband's face. I actually introduced them to each other when we were 18. It was love at first sight for those two. It was a happy, happy birthday dinner! I can't thank you all enough for keeping Karen in your prayers.

God really does have a plan for every life. I find it interesting that so many events in my life led to me moving back to OKC. Karen got sick right after I got here. We are both so very happy that we could walk through these long, dark and scary times together as the "sisters by choice" that we are.

    Happy Sunday!

    1. Surfie, thank you so much for sharing Karen's story. I am so glad for her and her husband. It is truly a success story and an inspiration to all of us. Please, let her know that she has friends at The Pond.

  2. FASCINATING:
'WOG says: Don't know if you've heard of these ...swimming pigs from Exhuma, Bahamas. The wild pigs swim out to the boats to beg for food. Some people jump into the water with the pigs.

    1. Hi Deer Phooey,
How are you today? Better, I hope. Surfie's story was wonderful to hear today. Froggy, Wolfie and I have had a quiet, restful day at home. A little rainy today..again..so there was no point in going out.
