Friday. Wet dog for Phooey!

The storm came. The wind blew.
I's all wet!

  1. Look at that poor, wet pup! There's nothing to pathetic looking as a wet dog or cat. They always look so miserable.

Good morning, all. I'm off to the hairdresser this morning and then to the box store. I'll check in later. Everyone have a great day!

  2. My umbrella nearly turned inside out yesterday but the storm was really just typical of Florida weather. Now we wait for an outburst of mosquitoes, then a fun time will be had by all.

  3. Where am I? What day is it? Who am I? What are you people doing in my room?

  4. It's only 9am in Seattle, and already you Ponders are making me laugh!

I don't have anything spectacular planned for today. Waiting for the postman, taking a bus to downtown, feed the cat, lunch with Froggy, nap. That sounds like a busy day!

  5. IF IT'S FREE...
'WOG says: I found this in the Seattle newspaper along with places to get free donuts. Check your area and see if there are free donuts today.

"Did you know that Friday’s “National Doughnut Day” began during the Great Depression, in honor of female Salvation Army volunteers who served doughnuts to World War I soldiers?"

    1. Deer Phooey, Thanks for sharing the talent of Sungha Jung. I started listening to more YouTubes. Couldn't get off for an hour.

Here's one that makes me cry when I hear the homeless Korean boy sing.

Now I am listening to a favorite from my youthful days in San Diego.
Iron Butterfly playing "In A Gadda Da Vida" 1968 (17 minutes long on YouTube) Can't wait for the drum solo!

I'll be back in a little while.

  7. Good morning! I kicked 'Woggy out of here and she went to get her prescription refilled. She doesn't like being cooped up at home and she gets a little cranky if she doesn't go out everyday. Yesterday, her snapdragons were doing fine and she just ran out of here to go water them! I sure like to see her happy; I'd do anything for her ;-)

    1. Sis, you spoil me! You are such a nice sister...you are the one that should be spoiled!

Now that you mention it, I'll need to water the new flowers again this evening. They said that they like their new garden home. LOL

  8. Did anyone read The DHS Insider on Canada Free Press today? This is a lot like the Ulsterman Insider reports. I don't think that Judy McLeod is a flake. It is scarry.

    1. Gloria, I didn't read Canada Free Press today. It's one of my favorite places to read. I'll check it out as soon as I can get away from YouTube music. (It's addicting!)

You might enjoy the music that Phooey and I posted above. And if you've seen them before, they are still wonderful.

Iron butterfly is doing the drum solo on YOuTube. Gotta go!

    2. OMG Wog, I hadn't checked on Sung Bong Choi in a while. A lot of things have changed for him since he first appeared on Korea Has Talent. Did you notice when they first interviewed him and asked him what he did for a living and he said he was a manual day laborer? They laughed at him. In that culture day laborers are really loked down upon. His story was heartbreaking but has turned victorious. He was able to come to California for a special event last year. I believe that God has set him apart and has a special destiny for him. I will remember to keep checking on him.

    3. Gloria, Isn't that young man amazing. Today I was watching the talent show where they discovered him...and I sobbed when he started singing. I'll Google him and see how he's doing. Amazing talent.

  9. Well, Surfie, living in OKC you get killer tornadoes. If you were still in Santa Monica, you wouldn't be able to go anywhere today between Obama's visit and SMC shootings. Either way, streets are cordoned off, schools are in lockdown and the few remaining avenues out are packed. Upside is having exams cancelled. Maybe the shooter was a failing student?

    1. Eva, we've been reading about the shootings at SMC. Another nut! How many are out there? Is this college located a few blocks from the beach? I remember a college in Santa Monica that was not far from the beach. Had a nice campus.

      Any updates on your sister?

    2. That's the college, 'Wog. It's a beautiful campus.

I just got off the phone with my sister. Some things are improving. Others aren't. Sometimes I think my father and niece are being way overprotective. I know they mean well but in some ways they're going overboard. Because her location is a secret, mail for her has come to one of their houses. They open her letters!! It's not like she gets much, but she did have friends in Mass. and she left in a hurry and couldn't say goodbye. Some of these letters have just been people wanting to know if she was okay. I feel very funny about it and, of course, she doesn't like it at all. They won't let her get a computer yet and when she checks her email or Facebook page at one of their houses, they're watching over her shoulder.

Her SSI check now goes into an account that she shares jointly with my niece. My niece says it's because her mom doesn't have a permanent address yet, and someone else needs to be able to draw on it if my sister can't. All true, but she feels as though they're monitoring her life.

I'm not there and they are carrying the brunt of her situation, so I can't really quibble about it. I guess I just wish they could be a little less heavy handed about things. My father says we rescued her and she's just going to have to deal with their oversight until she's extricated from her marriage, her debt, etc. He has a point.

    3. You all are in a hard situation, Eva. I'm not sure there ARE any right answers. I feel you're doing the best you can. It'll take time and there will be bumps along the way. Just don't let it destroy the relationship you have with your sis--that's the most important thing.
