  1. How is everyone? Gloria, are you recovering nicely from your test?

Surfie, I read that there were more tornado deaths in OKC from Friday--prayers!

    'Woggy is sleeping in...

  2. Good Morning,
I finally got up, and it's still early. Froggy put in a request for deep-dish pizza from Dominos. Sounds tasty to me, but I'm up so early that pizza place is not open yet.

How's everyone today? It's been a stressful week for Ponders.

  3. Hi Gloria,
I just saw the Anonymous post! It has been removed. We don't do anonymous at The Pond. Don't know who it is, but if they come back, they will always be removed. Froggy probably has a way to block them. No one is going to spoil Our Home.

  4. Happy Sunday. I didn't see the anonymous post. We are family here. Thank you for keeping watch over the Pond.

Eva, are you OK? How is your sister?

What a difference a day makes. Spent this morning under a beautiful blue sky, no wind, drinking my cup of tea on my patio in my new vintage chairs. Took care of personal business. Had a pizza delivered. Made my daddy's Caesar salad. Getting ready to sit in a bubble bath and give myself a mani-pedi. My nail polish is so old. Hope some of it still works.

  5. Hi Surfie,
I would call your morning a slice of heaven. What a change from a couple days ago. A bubble bath. I haven't had one in along time. They always smell so good. Very relaxing. I used to put an old B&W TV in the bathroom, and a speaker for music.

The anonymous poster was hawking some kind of jewelry. That just didn't sound like a Ponder.

We were going for pizza today too, but after a pancake breakfast from Mc Donalds, pizza has been postponed til tomorrow.

  6. Heck with the pizza that catfish looks tasty. Wondering if Gloria is still swearing a blue streak. Good for you Surfie, you deserve some pampering.

  7. Another great thing about being back in OKC is fresh catfish. As my grandmother used to say: Lord Love A Duck. I have so many memories of fishing, frying catfish and jalapeno/cheese hushpuppies. Served with turnip greens slow cooked all day with bacon. A little iced tea and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

    Its good to be home.

    1. Surfie...
Now that's a real meal! I never have room for dessert after a delicious meal like this. I predict a recipe book by Surfie.

  8. A quick check in before the day ends. I'm feeling so schizo today. I think it has to do with all the calls to my sister. It's the time difference. I don't know what time it is anymore :)

Anyway, she seems to be doing fine. My father and niece are back in town, so they'll take over now and I'll go back to my one call a day.

A pot of tomato sauce just blew up in my face (not sure why) and it's a good thing that I'm alone in the house. The language that came out of my mouth would curl your hair (is that the right phrase?). No lasting damage to me, I don't think. I went and plunged my face in the ice bin. Of course, I have to throw all that redish ice out and make more cubes. The cats are hiding. They don't like loud noises and I was really, really loud.

Yum, strawberry shortcake & iced tea!!

    1. Hi Eva,
It must be a relief to know that your sister has someone to keep an eye on her now. What is the time difference?

Tomato sauce. What were you making before you were attacked?
Some days there is too much excitement at The Pond!

    2. It's just 3 hours between here and Georgia, but I got all mixed up several times this weekend.

I was just heating up a can of Hunts tomato sauce to pour over spaghetti. The more I thought about making a whole meal just for myself (Joe is playing with his "band" at a retirement party tonight), the more I didn't feel like it. When in doubt, boil water, dump in pasta and open can. I don't know why it exploded. Most of it stayed in the pot, but it really spit some big glops at me.

Now settling down to watch Mad Men.

    3. Eva,
Did you get burned or did you get it off quick enough? That's really bizarre. We use Prego. Like all the different flavors.
Can you make a movie "Attack of the Killer Tomato Sauce" as a sequel to "Attack of the Killer Tomato's"?

Haven't seen Mad Men, but I've heard it's good. Enjoy your evening.
