    1. Hi Gloria,
Right now we are just sitting and sweating. Even the fan doesn't seem to help much. We have no great plans for the weekend. Maybe Froggy has something fun to do. There's always laundry, dishes, cooking, ...or maybe just do nothing. (Using the excuse that it's too hot.)

  4. FEEL-GOOD STORY:

68-year-old man born blind sees for the first time after operation

When Pierre-Paul Thomas was born blind 68 years ago, there was nothing medical science could do for him. Two years ago, the Montreal man fell down a flight of stairs, fracturing facial bones, including those around his eye sockets.

During the recuperation process at Montreal General Hospital, plastic surgeon Lucie Lessard asked a casual question: "Do you want us to fix your eyes, too?" Two simple cataract removal operations later, Thomas could see. Though he's still adjusting to changing his fingertip sense memory to visuals, Thomas is thrilled to be in an amazing new world. "It's like I’m a child all over again," he said.

    1. I don't understand being blind for 68 years and a cataract surgery giving him vision. The docs must have done something more that restored his vision - something that wasn't known when he was born.

Developments in modern health science are so interesting. I have a friend who is in treatment for aggressive prostate cancer. His doc told him that if he can stay alive for a few more years, he can live a very long cancer-free life.

Great story. Great way to start the weekend. Thanks!

  5. Wow! 68 years ago we didn't have the diagnostic abilities we do now.

  6. Hi Gloria and Surfie,
Glad you enjoyed the news story. I thought it was very interesting. Froggy is resting her back. We are so thankful for the cool nights. It's already feeling better in the apartment.
