  1. Good Morning, Pond Family,
It's frosty cold in Seattle. I'm up early today to go to work at Salvation Army store. Had to turn on heat, and jump back in bed for a few minutes. Froggy gets her eyes checked today at car center. Hopefully we can get her a decent pair of glasses. Just looked at my calendar. Time to flip it over to October.

  2. I meant to say "care center" not "car center." Funny how your eyes and your typing don't match sometimes.

  3. Glad to hear Froggy is being so well taken care of at the car center! Please tell her we're all still rooting for her. Any idea when she might come home? Wog, do you like your job so far?

Eva, you and Joe and Puffin and Bambu are always in our hearts and prayers. Hope you are holding up OK.

Love to all the Deer Pond Family.

  4. Hi Surfie and Pond Family...
Our Froggy is coming home next Tuesday. Don't know how that will work. Don't know if I have to go up and get her things, then come back in the transport together. Still hoping that they send her with wheelchair. We have a walker at home, and the bathroom and tub already has grab bars.

My cooking is going to get better real fast! Thought I would plan a menu for the week. I miss her at home, and I miss her on The Pond.

Eva, we all pray for you and your family every day. We love you.

Think I will leave our picture up for Thursday. It has a saying that seems helpful this week. Hope that's okay with everyone.

  5. Thursday Morning to ya...
Had to turn the heat on this morning. Ready to go to my little job. Just work 6 hours plus lunch. Going to try to get flu shot after work. Have to get there before 5pm.

I'll post some news this evening. Government shutdown is stupid. They are blaming the whole thing on Republicans. That's nonsense! president isn't going to budge on his obamacare. The plan where only we have to participate, and the people in the government (and president) don't have to take it.

  6. Good morning deer pond friends,

Eva, you’ve been in my thoughts and prayers too.

Wog, my attention has also been on the news. I'm praying for our country right now. Last night Mark Levin reminded us of the lawless steps the dems went through to get this Obamacare passed three years ago.

Then I heard about the WWII Memorial being closed to our brave veterans; all who are now in their 80’s and 90’s. That made me see red, as I have the utmost respect for the heroes of our country. The military are the ones who have kept us safe for generations, and the disrespect this president shows them is reprehensible. Yesterday, with help from some Republican congressmen and Senators, the gate was opened and the vets were able to see THEIR memorial. Today, however, the president has doubled down and has stationed guards and more barriers at the monument, as he is determined to make the people of this country suffer! My 88 yr. old father, and 89 yr. old uncle, are both proud Navy vets from WWII. They are scheduled to fly in from Washington state to see the Memorial at the end of October. While these Honor Flights are paid for by private donation, they’re also whirlwind trips, that have them in and out of DC in two days. These trips are physically taxing on the vets, but they’re so excited to see the memorial and pay their respects. I just hope this is settled soon.

Take care everyone. Love and prayers from Paget.

  7. Well, we said goodbye to sweet little Puffin this afternoon. He passed easily and peacefully. Our new vet and her staff were just wonderful. They didn't rush us. They explained everything. They gave us each a pin of a little cat with a halo and a folder of prayers and poems. They'll take care of getting the cremation and returning the cremains in the box we chose with the plaque with what we wanted written on it. We'll also get a clay impression of Puff's paw print. Before we left, they gave us some tufts of his hair. We really appreciated their thoughtfulness since we're still in a bit of shock over the swiftness of it all.

Now we need to take care of Bambu. He was such a faithful brother! These last few days, he never left Puffin's side. He doesn't know how to be an only cat. I'm going to spoil him rotten!

I'm glad to hear that Froggy will be coming home soon, but I hate that the little guy she made the Pond's site cat, King Puffin, won't be here to welcome her back.

Thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers.

    1. Eva, I firmly believe that Puffin and all animals are as loved and welcomed in Heaven as we humans are. Puffin is, after all, one of God's creations. Scripture tells us that God knows every grain of sand, every hair on our head, every bird of the field.

If it gives you any comfort, please know that Puffin is in no pain, is happy and healthy and having a purrrrrfectly fabulous time in his new digs. You will see him again some day.

My prayers are for you and Joe and Bambu to be comforted while you grieve. Grieve you will, and it is a healthy thing. I also pray that you move through the grief into the joy of remembering and the joy of knowing your loved one is in God's perfect kingdom and the joy of knowing you will see each other some fine day.

      We love you, Eva.

    5. My Dear Eva and Joe and Bambu,
I didn't know it would be so soon. You gave him a wonderful well-loved life.
We spoiled our little Boris when he lost his sister Zee. He kept looking for her, so I would pick him up and carry him. We always kept some whiskers that we would find around the room, and a snip of fur on the last day. I'm crying. I can't help it.
