  1. GREAT NEWS FOR Washington state conservatives!!! Congressman Norm Dicks has just announced he won't run again.
Oh please God send us God fearing patriots with some backbone to run.

  2. Gloria..that was a wonderful wish. Our government is way out of whack, meaning way toooo many liberals doing stupid things, and throwing government in our faces ..and our pocket books.

Froggy, love the kitty... and the caption. The kitty pics always make me laugh and smile and feel good.

  3. Shucks Darn! I can't find the post where Gloria says she's making enchiladas. Gloria, can you tell me how you make yours? Mostly what sauce do you use? I have used Old El Paso. Also do you make chili verde?

  4. I used to make beef enchiladas all the time when hubby and I were together and raising our son. They freeze well and are better for breakfast than leftover pizza. I don't have a precise recipe. Will collect my thoughts and let everybody know how I make them. If anybody makes chicken enchiladas, I'd love a recipe for that!

Still grieving Andrew Breitbart. I've always been a bit of a maverick in my circle of life. Will be more now.

  5. Surfie, I know what you mean about Andrew Breitbart. Things are getting out of hand in our society. What he did was his destiny. Now the mantle passes to others to continue his work. It is human nature for us to look for someone to blame when a tragedy happens. I can't go there all I know is that he will be missed.

I keep a box of tissues by the computer.

For enchilidas I use what ever left over roast or chicken I have. I used to make sauce from scratch. Now our favorite sauce is a can of La Victoria Chile Verde enchilada sauce. Flour tortillas. A can of diced green chiles mixed into the meat. So easy - so good. Leftovers for breakfast.

  6. Hello Pond friends!

Froggy, I laughed out loud at the picture above of the tuxedo kitty. Thank you so much for making me smile! The news just brings me down, and I sure can use a good laugh!

The passing of Andrew Breitbart is so incredibly sad! Four young children at home; it is so heartbreaking. :( I sure hope they get a truthful autopsy. I don't care if I sound paranoid. I just don't trust our goverment anymore. Today I also heard the big uproar over Rush's comment about that stupid woman who says she spends $3000. a year on birth control. What the heck! Most women spend around $25. a month.

Froggy, I'm so sorry you're depressed. :( I didn't have a chance to comment the other day, but I wanted to say now that social security was designed to help people in need, and you qualify! You are not trying to game the system, you honest-to-God need help and you deserve it, so please remember that!

Goria, your enchilada recipe sounds yummy, and I plan to try it soon! Speaking of food, tomorrow we're taking hubby's father and step mother out to dinner, as they're celbrating their 50th anniversary. :) FIL will be 90 this year, so we were all pleasantly surprised that they reached this milestone. :)

Wow, reading over my comment, I must sound like I have ADD, the way I jump around. Sorry, I just wanted to get all that in before I go to bed. So I'll say goodnight ladies, and gentleman. (that's you, Phooey!)

    Love you all! :)

  7. 'Debbie'? Is that you, Paget? You and Surfie have the same name, so I can't keep y'all straight. I don't remember Sis's name most the time... (She's a Linda). Thank you you for understanding m mood; I think Andrew dying affected me more than I thought. I swear I'm just as paranoid as you are about the government--I don't trust them at all. 'Woggy got me Dream From My Father from the library. I want to be able to read between the lines with this bastard we have in the White House. Pardon me, but I just don't care.

And you're right about birth control--spermacides, diaphrams, and condoms are damn near free--and birth control pills and IUD's are on a sliding scale--I'd have been surprised if I'd spent even $25 a month for birth control...

Thank you for your kind remarks about social security--it really DOES bother me that much and were moving slow as ice in applying for it. It seems we're trying to do anything we can to avoid it... sigh. I'm not sure I ever worked enough to have any kind of funds set up for it--I really didn't pay much attention back in my 30's. I've never been well since I was about 32 and even then just worked for non-profits... The telephone menus are impossible!

How lovely your FIL reached 90! We have have an Uncle Elmer that's 95 and Aunt Betty is 90. They're in Edmonton, so we don't get to see 'em, but they're habging in there! Have fun.

    You take care!

  8. Hi Froggy,

Yep, that was me up above. ;) I guess my alter-ego slipped through! I didn't even realize I wrote the wrong name - wow, I need to pay attention!

I woke up early this morning, now I think I'll have some coffee and greet the day. :) Hope all you ponders have a great weekend! :)

Love to you all from 'Paget' ;)
