  2. Sugar High!!

My big deal today was sleeping until 8:30. The cats let me, too. When I came into the living room I found a lovely vase with flowers and 2 cards propped up against it. One had my name on the envelope and one had the name "Mommy". Joe's card said if we were on a desert island together, he wouldn't throw me off. Doubtful, really. Every time we drove across the country (6 trips altogether), there was always a time when he'd stop the car and try to throw me out (lol).

The card from the cats (including dear Boomer from above), said they had taken care of the little birdie who told them how old I am, so he wouldn't be telling anyone else. Very cute.

Off I go to the shower now. Happy birthday to all March babies, both 2 and 4 footed!

  3. Happy Birthday to our March Family. I didn't know that we had so many. I put everyone's name on my calendar for next year. I put Peanut on there too. Enjoy your special day, and do something just for yourself.

  5. THIS SHOULDN'T BE NEWS:
'WOG says, Never thought we'd see the day that our military or British military was treated so badly. Note the article headline calls this woman... a "Navy girl.

~ Navy girl ordered to remove uniform on Virgin Atlantic flight ~

"A BRAVE British squaddie was ordered to remove her military uniform on a Virgin Atlantic flight from Britain in case it offended other passengers, according to reports.

Royal Navy helicopter technician Nicky Howse was told she would not be allowed on board the plane at Heathrow if she did not remove her combat fatigues.

Petty Officer Howse, 32, was travelling back to her deployment in America after compassionate leave at home in the UK when she tried to catch the flight to Los Angeles.

She was confronted by a security official and Virgin Atlantic staff who asked her to get changed, the Daily Mail reported.

The jobsworth staff got their flight rules wrong by telling Nicky, from Ipswich, Suffolk that the company did not allow military personnel to fly in uniform.

In an email to a friend, she wrote: "It was horrific. I was made to feel uncomfortable in my own country for wearing the uniform I wear to defend the place.

  6. OUR GOVERNMENT DOING IMPORTANT WORK:

~ Illinois bill proposes ban on lion meat ~
    By Alexandria Fisher, NBCChicago.com

"Roaring stomachs may not be able to satisfy their hunger with lion meat as a proposed bill plans to make the sale of meat from the king of the jungle illegal in Illinois.

The bill, filed in February and sponsored by state Rep. Luis Arroyo, was assigned to Illinois' Agriculture & Conservation Committee Thursday and would make Illinois the first U.S. state to place a ban on lion meat.

  7. Well, I'll have to add Jeff and Peanut! Eva, that was a charming thing Joe did--wow ;-)

I have a head cold, so I'm just laying around today--I probably caught it at the doc's office last week...

Surfie, how are you feeling? You've got a monster cold!

    Where's my Phoo?

  8. Happy March birthdays! Oh, Eva, your Joe really is a keeper. What a sweet and thoughtful thing of him. Hope you 2 enjoy many long years together.

Froggy, hope it's just a head cold and that you get over it soon. Whatever it is that I have feels like the flu. I dragged myself into work today. There are only 33 employees where I work, and 7 of them called in this morning with the flu. My boss kept coming into my office asking if I was OK. NO, I'm not OK, and don't know how long I'll last. Made it through the day, moving slowly, taking Dayquil and Fisherman's Friend throat lozenges.

And there are 2 other people besides me at work today who are clearly sick. I'm guessing we'll be 9 people short tomorrow. Everybody has been exposed. Who knows how many will be sick tomorrow. Good thing I love my job enough to show up sick.

Eating more chicken soup and going to sleep.

Happy March Birthdays again! Get well Froggy!

    2. Oh Deer Surfie, Froggy sends some Ribbettts your way to help you feel better. I tucked her in on the sofa with Wolfie and the TV remote. There is a can of chicken noodle soup waiting in the kitchen if she feels up to it. I do so hope that you feel better soon. It's bad in an office where it gets passed around, but what can you do? Have 'em drop by The Pond and I'll give them some Ribbettts too.
