  1. Stayed up late, got up early, took a nap, now in a fog. Hope I can do something useful today.

  2. Thought I was getting better but had a horrible night and woke up today feeling even worse. Went to the doctor. She said I had the flu, fought the virus off, but it left behind strep throat and pneumonia. Had a temp of 101.9.

I'm home with antibiotics and some drug for the cough. She gave me a coupon for the cough medicine. Good thing. The pharmacist told me those 20 little pills would have cost $240. This is the first time I've used my new insurance card. Only made a $20 copay at the doc's and the antibiotics cost $5. At least that's something good!

She told me I should be significantly better by tomorrow afternoon. I really like my new doctor. She's young, pretty, and we hit it off immediately. Felt like I was talking with a family member.

So I'm napping, eating chicken soup, drinking lots of water, surfing the internet all weekend! Won't get a single thing done, but that's OK.

Remind me next time I get sick to not tough it out and go to work anyway. I could have saved myself a lot of misery if I'd just taken a couple of days off work last week and gone to the doctor back then. Lesson hopefully learned.

    Love you deer Ponders!

    1. Deer Surfie, at least now you have a diagnosis so you won't feel guilty staying home. You were lucky on cost of your meds too. So rest, take your meds, eat soup. You should feel better soon. We'll be here for you anytime you want to drop in. Even in the night. Sometimes Froggy or I are up in the middle of the night.

    2. Surfie, I'm glad you went to the doctor and got some good meds. That flu going around is nasty. Pneumonia is nothing to mess with! Prayers that you get well soon!

  3. I knew something was wrong when after a late start I'm the first one on the lily pad this morning. Prayers sent Surfie's way.
Actually got some work done in our little garden today so I feel good about that. Tomorrow pain, but it feels good to be able to do anything again. Love to all.

  4. Phoobers--I'm so happy you sound better! Surfie, I wish you did; that sounds awful! I'm praying for you, hon.

'Woggy and I are just beating back a little head cold. At 72, 'Wogette needs to rest, so we're having a quiet Saturday. Anybody else watching the Jodi Arias trial?

    1. Froggy, We just watched 'The Life of Pi', and it was interesting with some beautiful scenery. I was told that for 3/4 of the movie the tiger was super imposed. It is incredible what they can do now. You can no longer tell what is real. Kind of scary, actually.

  5. Paget, I have not seen "Pi" but I looked it up Wikipedia. The story sounds fascinating. Maybe we can pick it up on TVs Comcast Demand. The new animations are astounding. It would be one of my wishes were I twenty again to learn so many of the new technologies.

    1. Hi Wog,

We watched it via charter's on demand, so it must be available on Comcast too. :) The tiger seemed so real! Of course I cried my eyes out at a couple scenes, but I always do when animals are involved. Even big scary tigers! :)

  6. Hi Paget, are you still up? I can't always go to sleep early when I'm not working.
