  1. I'll admit the Zimmermann verdict has me concerned. Would you like to be one on the jury?

    1. Definitely not! The jurors and the Zimmermams are all in danger. There is evidence that the DOJ sent teams into the crowds that protested before the trial.

    2. Gloria,
I have heard that certain people were sent into the crowds to stir them up. It's probably pretty easy to do.

  2. Hi Phooey,
I wouldn't want to be a juror. If Zimmerman is released, every juror could be in physical danger. And Zimmerman, whether he goes to prison or if he is released, he will be a target for vigilantes.

  3. Concerns me, too. I fear that there will be big trouble, even if Zimmerman is found guilty of manslaughter. I hope he can make enough money from a book deal and/or suing the pants off a lot of people so he can afford excellent security.

I'm just full of spit and vinegar enough to want to be a juror. Then the reality that I'm nearly 59 and can't afford protection brings me back down to reality.

    1. Hi Surfie,
I worry for Zimmerman and for the jury. On TV I hear that they don't want protesters to get violent, but that's just a ruse. Zimmerman will never be safe.

  4. STUPID NEWS FROM THE NEWS:

Military spending millions to protect gophers, while workers go on furlough

"A total of 650,000 civilian employees are now being furloughed at U.S. military bases in response to sequester cuts -- but the Department of Defense is still spending millions to protect fuzzy critters.

Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington state just received a $3.5 million department grant to purchase land around the base in an effort to protect the Mazama pocket gopher, a species that has not even been listed as endangered or threatened.

The expense is not sitting well with furloughed workers.

"That really makes me mad that they would do that," said Matt Hines, one of 10,000 civilian employees forced to take a 20 percent pay cut. "I'm all for saving animals, but at what cost?"

Under REPI (Readiness and Environmental Protection Initiative), the Department of Defense and other federal agencies have spent $397 million to protect 264,000 acres around bases since 2003."

  5. I just don't see any good outcome for this trial. If Zimmerman is acquitted, there will be riots, the jurors will be terrorized and the Zimmerman family will never have any peace. If he's found guilty, it's a travesty of justice. The case never should have been filed. It was only because of outside interference. There were so many strange things that happened during this trial. I couldn't believe the judge acted the way she did in questioning Zimmerman directly about whether he was going to testify. She told his lawyers to be quiet when they objected. I've never seen or heard of anything like that!
