  1. Breakfast in bed! Thank you! I hope that croissant has chocolate inside it. Are there any more strawberries?

What's everyone doing today? The sky is getting dark. Chance of thunderstorms every day for the next week. I have my usual chores today (clean house, do laundry).

When my friend Karen and her hubs dropped me off after our Friday dinner, I pointed to the chairs on my neighbor's patio. They're from the 50's, metal. Told them I've been looking at garage sales and on Craigslist and haven't found any. They have 2 in the garage at their rental house! Brad is going to bring them to me today.

So, aside from chores, I'm going to Home Depot to buy supplies to clean them up and paint them. Also buying plants for the pots on my patio.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

  2. Good Morning Surfie,
Breakfast in bed is always on my morning list. I'm putting in an order for french toast and extra syrup.

Your chair project sounds fun. We don't have a yard or garage where we can do projects. Seattle has a Home Depot, but buses don't run very well on Sunday. May run out there on Monday to look at potting flowers. Should be some sales.

  3. Morning Ponders. I got my days mixed up again. I got up thinking that today is Memorial Day. It's not - it is Sunday. Right now I am watching a baseball game. It's cool and damp outside. Don't feel like doing yard work. I just got Atlas Shrugged part 2 from the library so I may watch that tonight.

I have been trying to stick to the gluten free diet. When I have this down sugar will be the next to go.

    Have a good day.

    1. Hi Gloria, I try to put the day of the week up on the Pond picture. Though a couple weeks ago I put up the wrong day. Froggy caught it and fixed it.

Let us know how you feel with the gluten-free diet, and sugar-free eating. I don't know if I can give up chocolate candy bars. What I want is more energy. Someone pointed out to me that maybe I'm tired because I'm old. I have another theory: I'm tired because the cat wakes me up at 4am and starts begging for food!

I'm going over to your eBay account and have a look. I have some stuff I need to sell or take them to the goodwill. Just need to get more stuff out of our apartment. Just can't keep everything. Your Calliope site keeps me inspired that I can do it too.

    2. Ha Ha. Well, happy shopping. Right now I only have 1 listing. Anyone in the market for a vintage Krumkake Iron? I am almost through my third month. Val helped me by listing a lot of things for me. That brought my sales and feedback up. Right now Ebay holds your money in Paypal for 21 days for the first 3 months with some exceptions. They have other criteria a new seller has to meet too. I think that is to weed out flaky sellers. I think they should be doing more to weed out flaky buyers (you would not believe some of the things that have happened.) I am ready to list more stuff but I am having trouble taking pic that are not blurry. I need Steve to help me.

I was wondering if you can have a little place to plant something on your building patio. It would be nice to have fresh tomatoes or a pretty annual to enjoy.

  4. Deer Phooey,
I so much enjoyed the YouTube links. Sungha Jung is amazing. I saved it in my Favorites list. He played such beautiful tunes that we all remember. Took me back to my beach days in San Diego.

I have one for you. Have you heard Ethan Bortnick, age 7, concert piano prodigy. I am amazed at child prodigies. And of course, there is Jackie Evancho astounding singing voice.

Here is YouTube link to Ethan Bortnick. Shows him as a normal little boy who steps up to the piano and plays the masters and also plays his own compositions.

    1. Thanks WOG. Enjoyed listening to Ethan. It's just amazing how some kids have brains wired so differently than most of us. It would be worrisome to rear a child with such talent yet allowing him the normal everyday kid development time.

    2. Phooey,
That is the one thing I like about this YouTube of Ethan... you get to see him as a normal little boy playing with stuffed animals and begging his mom for piano lessons. And then you listen to him play the piano. Amazing. I have always been fascinated by prodigies and savants.
