  1. Hello, and why is our whole household up at 5 a.m. you ask? Da Wolf, of course! Do your cats get you up at ridiculous hours for a meal or is it just 'Woggy and I who are suckers?

    What up for today, Ponders?

    1. Hi Froggy! Chance woke me up at 4:15 today. I would prefer it if he let me wake up to the alarm at 4:45! Grumble, grumble. ;)

    2. Ha ha ours waited until 4:59 a.m. so we were in heaven! I want to pet and squeeze Chancy! I wrote you a note--did you get it?

    3. Thank you! I just responded. :)

Chancey can be a little stinker too. We play a game on the stairs when he is at the top looking down, and I'm at the bottom, starting to walk up. I will duck down, and crouch on the stairs so he can't see me. Then I'll wait about 2 seconds, and he will suddenly be there rubbing against my arms, purring his heart out. Well, the other day he changed the game, and just ran down and bit me!

I also wanted to follow up to Wog's comment the other day about Wolfie. We were commenting about his occassional biting. I am so impressed how patient you both are with him. Who knows what his life was like before he was chosen for adoption by you two deer ladies! I'd say he is one lucky kitty!

    1. Good morning Eva,
As far as we know everyone is okay. That was Froggy's choice for a Monday picture. I thought it was perfect. That's how I feel now that I'm up. I am on my way to downtown Seattle to stop at a job-help place. Be back in a little while.

Eva, do you have anything special planned for today?

  3. What a quandary, it's too late to take a nap and too early to go to bed for the night. Yawn....

  5. Had a whirlwind weekend. My cousin (age 54) is moving from Olympia, WA to Hot Springs, AK ... by herself in her truck with a U-Haul behind it. Got a call Thursday morning at work saying she was in Wichita, heading to my apartment.

She forgot to tell me she was arriving a week early! I scrambled around at work (we were having a huge company cookout Friday and I had a million things to do in order to get it together). Managed to take Thursday afternoon off, got to work waaaaay early Friday. The company cookout was a huge success and lots of fun.

Anyway, I had the most wonderful weekend. Cuz and I spent Saturday getting our business taken care of, then we drove all over OKC's 3 historic districts gawking at the homes and stopping at more garage sales than I can count. We stumbled upon one of those antique/collectible stores that has booths from individual collectors. OMG, it was a treasure trove. We spent almost 2 hours in that store, and we both bought lots of goodies. Very fun.

Sunday, we had coffee on my patio, remembered stories from our childhood, then went to my sister's for a swim and cookout with the whole family. I've been exercising this winter (when I didn't have pneumonia) and got the nerve to do some dives off the board because I thought I might not actually get hurt. This old woman is a little rusty, but I started getting the hang of it again. (Great childhood memories of my Daddy teaching me a lot of dives.) Every muscle in my body is sore. It feels good.

Thank goodness I have a Choctaw grandmother and an Italian grandmother because I was out in the sun for a very long time Sunday and woke up this morning with a lovely color and no sunburn.

Well, I've talked about myself again. I just had to blurt it out! Love you deer Ponders!

About the kitty bites. Really, when you rescue a pet you don't know what they've been through. I have so much respect for rescuing animals of any kind.

Eva, your sister and your entire family are in my prayers. I believe that, while it looks like a mess right now, it will turn into a positive experience for your sister and the entire family. That is my prayer.

    Love you deer Ponders!

    1. Surfie, what a wonderful post! It is so fun to get together with relatives and reminisce.

About our Wolfie...he really is a sweet boy most of the time. I am not afraid to pick him up or to comb him. He bit sometimes in the beginning. But as he got used to us, he would just bump his head against our legs if he wanted attention. He gets a little aggressive about 4:30 in the morning wanting to be fed. So the other morning I reached over and pet him a couple times. Then I just let my hand hang over the side. Like chumming for piranha.
