Once again Friday returns.

And slowly I turned...

  1. START YOUR DAY WITH A SMILE:

Ben & Jerry’s to create new ‘Seattle’ flavor

If you mashed up the flavor of Seattle into a bowl of ice cream, what would it taste like? Hopefully something like Ben & Jerry’s upcoming “Seattle flavor,” for which its asking people to vote on ingredients.

The ice creamery is working with local brands Theo Chocolate and Caffe Vita to create the flavor. But its asking people for other suggestions. Pretzels? Marshmallows? Salmon? According to Ben & Jerry’s, votes are leaning toward “yellow cake pieces” and “fair-trade vanilla.”

Come on, Seattle. You can do better than that. How about coffee ice cream, ribboned with clam chowder, sprinkled with Fran’s salted caramels, and studded with Dick’s French fries?

  2. Seriously, I am headed off this morning for a pre op appt with the surgeon. Will get this taken care of as soon as I can arrange it.

I am working about sharing a little story about my Dad and one of his escapades. Every time we tell it we laugh because he was a real tight wad about certain things. I could share a lot about him and how he grew up but for now will stick to this one story. Later on that.

    1. Hi Gloria...
Hope your doctor visit went well. Your Pond family is here for you.
I look forward to hearing about your dad. Do you have enough dad-stories for a book? I always ask that because I am a frustrated-wanna-be writer. But when your 70, as I am now, it just might be time to give it a try! I've wanted to write since Stephen King published his first novel "Carrie" in 1974.

  5. I was in a funk yesterday, too. Just looking at the headlines on Drudge or Lucianne's Must Reads. Sigh. Just when I think things can't get worse, Obama and his buddies prove me wrong.

'Wog, when you wrote about your move from Denver to San Diego, I gulped. These things seem so impossible and then somehow, they get done. Joe & I did a cross-country round trip drive with the 3 cats once and we survived. I wasn't sure that we would on the way to NJ, but we learned things and on the way back we made those adjustments. The most important thing we learned was not to take the cats with us on vacation :)

I'm sure that we'll have other adventures this time, but it's actually easier for us to drive with them rather than fly. We'll schedule the moving van for one day and leave ourselves the next morning. We'll arrive before they do and we fully expect to be 6 days on the road. Once we settle on a date certain, I can plan more specifically. It'll cost less if we move after Labor Day, but I don't know if Joe will wait that long. We have to decide these things soon.

My computer is very slow all of a sudden. I think I may bring it in to Staples tomorrow for their free tune-up.

    1. I only moved 1/2 way across the country, drove by myself so it took 4 days. Also scheduled the moving van to arrive the day after I did.

Eva, I know it's stressful. Just stick to your plan, put one foot in front of the other, and keep on keeping on.

I hope that, once the move and stress and shock are over, you and Joe settle in and are as happy about moving home as I am.

You and Joe and the kitties are in my prayers.

HEY ... when I moved, I wrote a little update everyday when I got to my motel room of the night. If possible, we would love to read of your day's journey. Please at least check in every time to let us know you're safe. SURFIE SMOOCH!
