Tuesday is for Froggys

Some days upside down is better!

  1. Some days upside down is indeed better, I agree. Today looks to be gorgeous here. The sun is out already. No June gloom. Joe's last day of work was yesterday (until he gets another job in NJ) and he's lying in bed with the cats draped over him. It's going to take me awhile (it always does) to get used to him being around all the time.

Good to hear from you Surfie. Sounds like you had a great time with family!

Your last post yesterday was really funny, 'Wog. Chumming for Piranhas!

    1. Eva,

Did I miss something? Are you and Joe moving to NJ soon? I remember you mentioning it a while back; but that he didn't want to leave CA after all. Good luck with your move, it sounds like a good plan! :)

    2. Hi Paget,

Yes, last summer when we were talking about moving, we decided to wait another year. We were so sure that Romney would win the election and that the mood of the country would be on the upswing, the job situation would be better, and the ability to sell our home for not such a big loss would be better. Alas, that didn't work out the way we wanted! At least Joe got another year's salary in the bank. Hurricane Sandy almost derailed our plans again, but we're forging ahead. Our parents are so elderly that we just don't want to wait any longer.

  2. Hello pond friends,

Thought I'd drop in at lunchtime and say hi!

I also enjoyed Surfie's post about her family, etc. I am especially envious of her tan! When I'm out in the sun I turn red. :( I've also had some questionable sunspots on my skin over the years; so far they are ok according to my dermatologist. So, I use sunblock, and fake tan lotion if I want any color. I think it has to do with being part Norwegian. On that subject; I recently sent in a DNA sample to ancestry.com. I'm excited to see my results, as I'm kind of a heinz variety.

I hope everyone is having a nice day. It's overcast and windy here, but that is typical for our spring.

Talk to you later deer friends!

    Love from Paget

  3. The other day I posted about buying some homemade soap from a company on Etsy and 'Wog asked about the speed of their shipping. I don't know if this is the norm, but I ordered on Friday, it was shipped on Saturday, and I got it yesterday (Monday). I'm very happy with that. The soap is just lovely. I think sometimes you just stumble on a little treasure and it all works out. Nice to know some things still do!

  4. I wonder if the NSA enjoys reading our posts as much as I do? NCIS night Surfie.

  5. Phooey, that was hilarious! Hooray for NCIS night!

Eva, more details please about a possible move. This is exciting to me.

Paget, I'm also Norwegian! My father had a Norwegian father and Choctaw mother. His family was from Trondheim. My mother had an English father and Italian mother. I've traced grandpa on Mom's side back to the 1600's in Derbyshire, England.

I've thought about sending in DNA to ancestry.com. Paget, how long before you get results? Please keep us posted. If you get great information, I'm going to do it. One more thing for NSA to tag us with :=)

Summer is here in OKC. We're already in the mid-90's every day. It's weird, but I'm like a bear that comes out of hibernation when the weather gets warm. I am more energetic and motivated in all areas of my life. I even think better. Must be genetic.

Love to all in our deer Pond family. See you tomorrow!

  6. Hi Ya'll,
    Very newsy Ponders today.

Eva, looks like you and Joe are on your way to the East Coast. Did you say that Joe doesn't have a job lined up? We came to Seattle with no job and no place to live...and three cats. It took a while to settle in, but everything is okay now.

Paget and Surfie, there is a large Norwegian community near Seattle. Sig, the captain of the Northwestern crab boat, is related to Norwegians who settle here. He can be seen on TVs "Deadliest Catch." There is a lot of excitement at the docks when Sig brings his boat and crew back to Seattle.

Phooey, I'm sure The Pond is high on the NSA watch list! Enjoy your NCIS. Tuesdays I like to watch Dance Moms. It's one of the few shows that I am addicted to. I am always amazed how such little kids can dance so well.

"Night all. I may drop back late in the evening before bedtime.
Love everyone. Be safe and be happy.
