Good Morning, Pond People!

I need my coffee and I want it now!

  1. Good morning! YAY for the weekend. What's everybody doing?

Froggy, how did your phone conversation with the doc turn out? I know it's difficult, dealing with issues over the phone. Don't know that it's any easier dealing with issues in person. In both cases, it depends on who you talk to in the same office. Some people have a brain and some don't.

I haven't been able to celebrate my little sister's birthday with her, in person, since I moved to SoCal in 1985 ... until last night. She thought it was going to be just another birthday with nothing special going on except for some phone calls. WRONG. I surprised her at her favorite Mexican restaurant with all the family there. We had a wonderful time together.

The look on her face when she arrived to find us all there, the gifts on the table, and the staff putting a fancy sombrero on her and singing the Happy Birthday song were all priceless.

I'm 5 years older than her, but we have been two peas in a pod our whole lives. We, as mature women, are completely different in many ways. Still, the special bond of sisterhood is strong.

    Froggy and Wog know this!

    Sister smooches!

  2. Mornin' all. Froggy I am hoping to hear good news about your medical stuff.
To Surfie: I always wanted a sister. How wonderful for you to get to celebrate her special day.

Folks something is disturbing me. I keep reading that the administration has a pick for Supreme Court. Kamala Harris. I think I read that she is Calif State AG. I have a hunch that with the name Kamala she is Muslim. I could be wrong, I'll wait to see.

New Ulsterman Report comes out this week.

  3. What a great surprise for your sister, Surfie! I know you're going to have many of these "1st in many years" occasions. May they all be just as much fun as last night's was!

Yes, Gloria, Kamala Harris is our AG. I shudder to think about her being nominated to the Supreme Court, but if she was to replace someone like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, it wouldn't change much.

    How's it going, Froggy?

  4. Good Sabbath, Eva ;-) I don't know much about this Kamala person--but, if Obama is for her, I know she's hand-picked to mess us up good... sigh. I can't believe Ginsburg said what she did. I guess I should stop being surprised.

Hi, Gloria! I read Ulsterman, too. I don't quite know what to make of it all, but it is interesting. I get a little tired of him delaying his interviews, though--a little too manufactured to gin up interest, I think. How's our Peanut doing?

Where's our BrotherPhoo? SMOOCHIES from all of us, for sure!

Surfie, that sounded like such a wonderful birthday for your Sis. Leave it to you to plan something wonderful! I'm sure glad you have her; I agree--sisters ARE really special. (Gloria, you'll just have to be sisters with us!) Speaking of sisters, where's our Paget?

Thank you for asking about my doc, hoppers; how thoughtful of you! There was good and bad news: Bad, he still refuses to treat my chronic pain and I don't know what to do. (He doesn't believe in pain pills for fibromyalgia and I'd had a problem with them in 2010 for about 6 months...) However, he given me the green light to apply for disability (though I know it's not up to him--it's a whole separate agency--I do value his opinion) It made me feel better about considering it. Now, we have to get organized...

I have pulled the muscles in my upper stomach and left back to my waist, so I'll be taking it easy this weekend. My back doesn't seize up like 'Woggy's does--I just get so weak I can't do anything and I get terrible muscle cramps. We're fallin' apart here! I'm taking extra magnesium and calcium for it--and my NSAIDS. I'd been doing a bunch of leg lifts and stretches, leg circles, knee lifts etc.; I didn't know it was straining that area, oops! I'll be fine.

We're trying to figure out what to eat this weekend--whatcha having?

  6. Gloria, my posts were doing that for a while. I started copying my posts before I posted them. Not sure how I fixed the problem.
